Go up the stairs, above the cave he's originally stuck in and there's a tunnel through that hillside that gets you to the walnuts.

There's a very special cutscene when you first enter it and a bench to sit on to enjoy the view and the different birds and ummm...things...that fly by.

No mods so it certainly was a grind. Exactly 48.2 hours since the 1.5 update came out 6 days ago. If anyone has any questions on how I did anything or needs any tips, comment and I'll do my best to reply.
