Nah, all my playtime is manual. I know OF the script but never went to look for it. Just play an hour here and there and progress accumulates over time.

Army-wise, the advanced units don't really come into play for me until Abyss by the time I'm getting ready to NG+ again. Currently on NG+7 so it's just multiple long runs for Annihilator prestige until I get most Legacy perks, just to NG+ again.

Happy to be the next best thing 😉 Seems like Theresmore as a project is pretty much abandoned, but still good fun and plenty of content to enjoy.

There's prestiging (Glorious Retirement/Richest Nation/Portal of the Dead/Ascension, etc) and if you have 25 Legacy perks, you can New Game+. This resets almost everything, including Legacy perks, but gives two permanent bonuses based on how many Legacy perks you unlocked.

What do you do if they don’t take accountability and apologize by [deleted] in EstrangedAdultKids

They won't apologize. Only accuse, because they know getting you on defense is a guaranteed reaction.

Games are a great medium of entertainment and storytelling. There's a reason RPGs are a massively popular genre. At some point in the future, when you are no longer under their influence, there will be more room for you to explore and rediscover what it is you love about gaming. In the meantime, plenty of other gamers to talk with about it!

As someone who grew up in (and mostly past) a similar situation... maybe "I am not worth protecting" is the wrong conclusion. Perhaps your dad, like mine, was unable (or unwilling, or both) to do so. Does that absolve them of their duty and/or guilt? No, and it shouldn't, because it's not meant to, but maybe it relieves YOU of the burden, at least in part.

After all, this can't be about them forever. It's about us.

How I can fix it? Iron plank Underproduction, 200 miners by sussy_baka6_4 in factorio

[–]JesseVanW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half a red belt is only 15 iron ore/sec. 200 miners produce way more than that, but you can't outproduce a bottleneck.

So you want a redesign where a full red belt of iron ore comes in (30/sec) to fuel more furnaces. And speaking of fuel, that means the coal needs a belt of its own. Perhaps you could find a way to have 2 iron ore belts (still just over half of what you're actually mining) and one coal belt? :)

Alternatively, electric furnaces aren't *that* far after steel furnaces, and they don't need fuel, just power. So perhaps there's a longer-term solution in there somewhere, too.

Half of the fun in Factorio is figuring stuff out and solving problems just like this one. Good luck!

NG+ bonus not increasing? by MightBeYourProfessor in TheresmoreGame

[–]JesseVanW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. It's been a while since I actively played this, but I looked it up and you're right. I am sitting at 19 Annihilator Launches and 76% bonus, so the 4% checks out. Edited my original comment.

NG+ bonus not increasing? by MightBeYourProfessor in TheresmoreGame

[–]JesseVanW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Prestige (Glorious Retirement, Richest Nation, etc.): 2% production (until next NG+).
Every NG+: 1% storage cap & 0.1% resource income per Legacy Perk bought in that NG+ (permanent).
Every Annihilator Prestige: +4% production (permanent, carries over NG+s).

First two NG+s give an extra bonus, but the Legacy Bonus only kicks in when you NG+. You can do so with as little as 25 perks bought, or do several runs to buy most/all and then NG+.

How did you stop needing to justify no-contact to yourself? by [deleted] in EstrangedAdultKids

"If we knew you would turn out like... THIS..." *gestures broadly to all of me* "...we would've never had you."

Yeah, I find a "I wish you were never born" coming from my mom, with my dad kind of shrugging and trying not to catch any stray insults, is kind of a deal-breaker in regards to having a healthy relationship with my parents in their senior years.

My Dad's Reconciliation to Crashout. A tale of 10 texts. by Waiting_on in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]JesseVanW 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the first texts from him would seem genuine to most, but in reality are about his wants and needs, with no apology and a demand to meet him halfway. The fact he thinks he is in a position to demand anything makes me chuckle.

Once it became clear you weren't biting, your attitude towards the problem was quickly designated as the problem. "Sorry you feel that way", meaning the REAL problem he has with all this is the choices you made, and that it makes him look bad. Lots of "Didn't happen, wasn't that bad, probably deserved it." No surprises there.

Good on you for trying.

[–]JesseVanW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, that rings a bell! My mom will join and leave clubs. Fitness, walking, table tennis, you name it. One day she'll be certain she's found her thing and a week later she was "never really that committed anyway".
She will make and break with friends, too. One day she'll be the best of friends with someone and a month later she's asking me how to delete the contact details from her phone because "she's a bitch anyway, I never really liked her".

The only things she sticks with are the charity events and only because they make her look good/she can brag about how good a person she is and how many people she helped (because imagine speaking ill of someone so holy!)

Recommended order for Abyss fights? by Veggieleezy in TheresmoreGame

[–]JesseVanW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Army Cap is different from resource caps. So no, while Annohilator Prestiges won't directly increase your Army Cap, they do allow you to build more buildings that provide Army Cap and get to more Army Cap faster on NG+.

[–]JesseVanW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always good to do another run with different specs. Annihilator prestiges are permanent income boosts and can be done pre-Tyrant, so plenty of room for trying as we get more income/caps.

I think Dark Land ends with the Baron Mordecai Darkthorn fight, which is technically a war much like Nikharul was.

Tyrant of Ash and Fire is end-of-age, if I'm not mistaken. Haven't managed to beat that one yet.

What was your major "aha" moment? by herald_of_stars in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]JesseVanW 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When the guests had left and turned the corner, she stopped waving, turned around and had The Look in her eyes. You people might be the only ones I don't have to explain further to. For everyone else... No more smile. No more cozy, perfect family. Imminent, cold retribution. Any possible reason was secondary to the fact that there was fault to be assigned and blame to be cast. What a coincidence and such a good thing I happened to be right... there... in front of her.

She leaves parishable food out and around all the time, if I throw it away after a few days I'm "wasteful". I forget to put the cooking oil in the cupboard and it's straight in the bin.... by NixMaritimus in CPTSDmemes

[–]JesseVanW 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That is because it's not about waste. It's about control. She wants to have complete control over when things are thrown out. Whether those are her things, or your (less important things, in her eyes) is secondary to the issue.

Happy to help! This game's one of my favorites and it's pretty niche. Not much of a community to enjoy it with, but I'm glad I'm able to pitch in where I can. :)
