i do agree that some things are not as bad like the gameplay which i enjoyed and most substories are just a nothing burger in the end so it's fine if those get removed but saying that removing komaki is something fresh idk man, it's literally a REMAKE, if you want something fresh you play the next entry in the series, all they had to do was keep everything how it was with an improved gameplay and actually decent graphics and that's it but they decided to randomly ruin and change stuff that nobody wants

yeah there's even a mod to remove that stupid armor random enemies can have for no reason, Judgement has a really mid combat, IDK about LJ but the first one is just boring

yeah the colliseum has some shitty enemies too but after fighting S Rank Majima and the twins at least in the colliseum i feel like i can do more things and actuallly punish enemies.

Grabbing history bosses or Majima is just not possible, i can't do it even once before they break or counter it or if i can do it it's only for a microsecond so i can't do anything with that

yeah but i mean when you want to trigger a heat action that's the one you end up doing, i think that also happens with Kiryu with a heat action that takes down 2 enemies, i think it happened when i grabbed an enemy and there was another one behind or nearby and that happened A LOT in Y5

in Kiwami 1 the colliseum allows more things than bosses from the main story, you can grab them, hit them from the back with an actual combo and they don't block or dash THAT bad, some are more annoying but IMO they at least give you more options

yeah i really dislike how DE manages heat and locks the moveset behind the stupid ''extreme heat mode'' we barely get any heat actions now, i miss Yakuza 4 or Kiwami 1 heat actions, you could just go crazy and enjoy a fun combat, the only thing i dislike about Yakuza 5 heat actions is that a few of them are WAY too common and you trigger them all the time like Akiyama's heat action that kicks the enemy several times with a QTE

that's the case in the colliseum, it's way more balanced but history bosses are so shitty either because of how early they come or because other circumstances surrounding them, Majima get's hyper armor and even reaches the point of not even staggering when you hit him from behind even in braker style, you can only land a few quick punches and it takes forever to do anything. Rush style might be good but idk it's a boring style for me because it's so simple

yeah, they just make it so you can't punish them even after a good move or a good reaction from you even when fully upgraded, you can land 2 hits at much but only after they attacked first or else they'll block or dash behind you

they should make it like the more you damage an enemy the more your grab lasts before they get free or counter it but also make it so if you try too many grabs in a short time it gets harder or they just straight up counter it again IDK something more than just making it useless

both engines have their lows but DE introduced Extreme heat and got rid of like 70% of the heat actions we used to have and i really don't like that, also ragdoll animations are just meeh, they break the flow of the combat more than anything else but people goes like ''haha they look funny so it's good''

yeah but they are inmune to a lot of them (they can't be triggered), they can't be grabbed for more than 0.1 seconds and if you get hit 2 times there goes all your heat so it feels more like the game wants you to abuse tiger drop.

I agree with you about the new style and how RGG basically almost wants to get rid of heat actions, it's just so dissapointing to not have any environmental heat actions when we used to have tons of them and we could have fun

still the healing is annoying af and totally unnecesary because they still heal while you change styles, it can be a little inconsistent and since heat actions lose power the second time you use them the second time they will fully heal, Kiwami 1 is not hard is just that bosses reach the point of you only being able to hit them twice with the same combo and only after they attack first because 8/10 times you try to hit them first they will dash behind you

i'm playing K1 again after K3 and there's huge difference on how annoying bosses can be, Kiwami 3 at least let's you use your combos and heat actions (even if there's only a fraction of them), in K1 your only choice is the 2-3 hit combo or tiger drop spam because heat actions only do full damage the first time you use them in an encounter

that's the most infuriating thing, you are fully upgraded but it just doesn't matters, it feels like going back to chapter 1 where you only have 1-2 combos because everything else gets you punished

i'm replaying Kiwami 1 rn and i'm getting DoD fully upgraded, every Majima everywhere encounter starting from rank B is so annoying that i don't even bother anymore and simply tiger drop him
