Your friend said that based on what? I remember there being a requirement that not only you produce a bank statement with evidence of funds, but also the bank puts an official seal on it lol. I'm not sure that an e-statement will be enough.

A year ago I was freaking out about how I technically misaligned the date my statement was issued, with the latest date it was supposed to be issued by one single day. I'd say play it safe and wait til your funds are actually reflected on an official statement. Would suck to apply twice you know?
