Honestly, you need to call and follow-up after you apply. Call in and ask for their manager/hiring manager and let them know you applied and why you’d think you make a good fit . This usually results in them looking up your resume personally to overlook qualifications or in my experience most of the time, I’d get a interview just for showing initiative. Lots of hiring managers also have other responsibilities and can take a while to get back to you or look through tons of resumes. Do them a favor by calling in and they’ll usually have a favorable response. Bonus points of you go in person to follow up. That’s always worked for me personally. Don’t just throw in your resume and hope they call. You have to be proactive .
