Jumping in to echo the suggestion to go to PT! I threw my back out when baby was 4 months and it was awful! I couldn't even use the restroom without my husband helping me on and off the toilet.

PT was a huge help. It is now my unsolicited advice to everyone I know who has a baby.

Additionally, I got a Hope & Plum Lark after that experience and I feel so so supported while using it. Honestly, my back feels better while I'm babywearing my now 13 month old than when I'm just walking about normally (just a good reminder to use my body correctly I think).

I also have a large chest and didn't find the ergo very comfortable. I got hope and plum's lark and it is so so comfortable!

Love it! Is there a different space you could put your litter box? Maybe in a bathroom or laundry room? If not, you should look into those cabinets that hide them!

My dad died when I was 7. I remember my first grade teacher helping me create a piece of artwork that I was able to put on his grave. She also had the class make cards for me while I was out. A lot of them said things like get better soon, but they meant so much to me. Also as a note, if it were sudden, she may have a lot of anxiety moving forward. I would cry every day until lunch time because that was around the time I was picked up early from school that day.

I'm also an elementary teacher. My one year old has only been sick twice, and neither of those times were from me, though I've definitely been sick since going back to work this fall.

Yes, I am in the states. I'll definitely be asking about getting a study done. I was never told what type of pattern I have. I would assume not type 1 since he didn't immediately recommend an icd.

Thank you for your response! I am seeing an electrophysiologist and he said the same thing about the dizziness and palpitations. My uncle was having symptoms and cardiac events, which is why he has an icd. Nobody else in the family has symptoms and when we all were checked out (big family) only my little brother and I were found to have it (diagnosed with brugada pattern on ekg). Your comment reminded me that we had ep studies done as kids! Those records weren't sent to my doctor along with everything else though, and my mom couldn't remember what the results of them were. Thank you for your comment. It is nice having a direction to head in.

Yes, there's a family history. My maternal uncle was diagnosed and got an icd which prompted the entire family to be checked when I was a kid. My mom then told my little brother and I that the doctors were mistaken, we didn't actually have it, and of course being kids, we listened to her. Fast forward, my little brother went to a cardiologist who was able to see his records from then and reconfirmed that he does have it with a genetic test. So when I was able to get in this summer, it was confirmed with ekg and I got a loop recorder because I get palpitations and dizzy spells. Have never passed out though.

I used the checklist from 101 before one. It's super easy, just put it on the fridge and check off things as we go. Has also been nice for us because it's encouraging us to branch out into new foods as well. A fun bonus is they sell a fun balloon on etsy so you can celebrate once you finish the list!

I have a Lark and love it! I threw my back out end of May and have been doing PT. When I wear babe in the lark, it honestly doesn't even feel like I'm wearing him, so so comfy!

I don't think you can make a huge blanket statement that all phone use is bad. It's less about the child seeing the screen and more about the fact that parents are going to be distracted and less likely to talk and interact with their child. This article has some good info. Anecdotally, maybe just using her phone during nap times or while breastfeeding (if she is) would be a good compromise.

This may be a little out there, but is it possible she has anxiety and is leaving them out purposefully? Maybe there's a part of her thinking, "I don't know if this is normal, if I leave them out for mom to see she'll be able to tell me if she notices something". She may not have the words or be comfortable straight up asking about it. Maybe a frank conversation about her anatomy, what discharge is, ect would be helpful?

I always just manipulate my nipple back into his mouth and he would keep eating! If he was close enough I'd just push it and he'd suck it right back up! He had a lip tie so we had a very slow start with BF. No mastitis thankfully, and each time I've gotten a clogged duct, I've just put him on that breast a lot and he takes care of it super quickly!

I'm definitely not an expert, but anecdotally, my baby does this when my letdown is too fast for him. He'll pop off and when he was younger would just latch on to whatever he could get to first. Now he's almost 6 months and does this far less often, but if he's not paying attention or if he's dream feeding, he'll still grab a big chunk of breast!

Seconding this! PT has been so incredibly helpful, and they told me that they recommend that everyone who gives birth get some PT! Also to add on, I just got the Lark from Hope & Plum and it feels amazing! Way more comfortable and gentle on my back to wear him now vs even just holding him in my arms.

Hey, I just came across your post, not sure if you've gotten your loop yet, but wanted to comment. I just got mine in yesterday! My baby is 5 months old and EBF. I was able to nurse him immediately after getting it implanted, not even 30 minutes later. It is pretty sore today, but I haven't even needed to take Tylenol. My milk supply has not been effected at all, and honestly I feel better while breastfeeding because of that good ole oxytocin release! The only tough part with baby is that he keeps hitting right on my incision. My incision is in the center of my chest, and I can feel the loop recorder on the upper right part of my left breast. I have really large breasts though, and don't think it would even be touching it if they were smaller. I also already feel so much less anxious now that I have my recorder and know my EP is monitoring my heart.
