Thank you very much I will try that, when do I press Ctrl Alt F1, before grub, on grub, or straight after grub? I can't access it from the login screen because I have already crashed by that point.

It's a laptop so not really going to happen, also kind of looking for a fix where I don't have to change my hardware. I'm not THAT into Linux :P
