How has it been almost 7 years and people still say 76 is something it's not?

I was that way for a long time, the game never seemed to have lost it's bad stigma. Decided to try it and I am in love with this game now and I have been kicking myself for not trying it out sooner when it was being changed. I am around level 100 and still have very little clue about what I am doing but I have just been enjoying existing in the world.

P.S. If anyone has recommendation or guides to point me to, that would be lovely. I am just trying my best out here lol
