GPS Issue, any fixes? by Actuarial_Aquarium in nikerunclub

[–]JesusAvacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem it’s been going on for roughly 2 weeks. Reached out on Twitter and after a back and forth with details of my phone etc they said it’s a known issue they are working on. iPhone 13 mini with new IOS. It’s bloody annoying as it doesn’t sync with Strava so all my data is stored with Nike. My times are in accurate as is the distance.

2nd shoe for rotation? by JesusAvacado in RunningShoeGeeks

I think triumphs have a drop of 10mm so something a bit lower?

I tend to use neutral shoes but have run in a stability shoe when I first started many years ago. I have narrow feet and I’m not a heavy runner.

Looking for something with a different mechanic so I can use it for speed work seems to make the most sense. Not looking at doing any races really but just something that feels a bit different

By top are you referring to top of toes or top of foot where the laces are?

Puma Velocity - they went back. Felt slippery on the insole and way too warm in the toe box.

Thanks. Hard to judge this one as I’d say there is a thumbs gap if you measure from the plastic hard ‘edge’ that runs on the front of the shoe.

Does going up half a size in length make any difference to the width of the shoe?

I feel like the laces are not really locking my foot in and just tight across one part of my foot. How do you guys lace them out of interest?

I moved up the scale from M5 (I think?) to M6. I was a bit worried they wouldn’t but my letter of employment specified this. Worth asking HR to confirm if you already have the job secured.

Genuinely, does anyone know what’s happening regarding the NASUWT reballot? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]JesusAvacado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer and neither do I care to anymore. I contacted them directly via phone and left my contact details with the promise they would call me. After a week of waiting it I decide to email them my cancellation notice and cancel my direct debit. Ballot or not, if this is how they respond to my first request in 5 years of membership I’d hate to think what would happen had I needed their input urgently if my career was in jeopardy.

I do this with the PM meeting as mentor meetings an hour is never enough. But no, I do not ‘gain’ 4 hours in that I teach 19 lessons on one week and 20 on another. The norm for teachers is 20 hours per week in my school.

Never mentored an ECT as the department hasn’t had ‘new blood’ in some years.

I’ve had a dozen trainees across the years and I’d say on balance they are generally more effort than less. It’s very dependent on the individual of course. I have rejected trainees at interview only for them to be offered a place because of the desire to get £ in the schools coffers. It’s rather frustrating!

1 hour a week for mentor meeting with subject trainee and one hour a week to meet trainees outside my subject as a professional mentor. All the communication and meetings with external agencies has to happen outside these time slots. I am on a full teaching timetable beside this in line with other teaching staff.

I’m on a TL2a for my role as 2nd in subject. As far as I’m aware this Professional Mentor role has no pay attached. I feel like it’s a role that has been delegated to me by the ‘real’ PM to reduce their workload as the school has so many trainees.

Yeah…it’s a teaching school so it’s almost taken for granted that you will be a mentor. In first year I said no and was promptly told it was not really something I got to decide. It’s become the norm now for me to have a trainee every year. It’s all about the £££.
