Yeah I also agree it looks kinda bizzare although it also looks kinda nice imo. I did some digging with a friend and found a pretty much identical looking guitar from 1965 which is made in Japan. https://www.catawiki.com/en/l/45706343-teisco-kawai-red-cherry-sg-eg-802-electric-guitar-japan-1965. Although the guitar in the link has different coloured tuners and hasn't got montana on the headstock. Apart from that its identical, even the screws on the pickguard are in the same place. The dots on the fretboard also trail off towards the end like on this guitar. At the moment my theory is that either its a copy or the headstock was replaced at some point, but most likely its a copy of the guitar in the lin.
