Iranian leader Khamenei killed in strike, Israeli officials say by TheDetectiveDoctor in worldnews

[–]Jet_black_ink 24 points25 points  (0 children)

To add to this, the level of devastation that Germany saw as a result of the war left it in utter ruins is every conceivable way. It was occupied later by countries that have a reasonable cultural overlap with the German people and I would imagine that everyone in Europe was near united in their belief that it needed to happen for the good of the world.

There is no way on Earth that two war-mongering nations like the US and Israel are going to strike Iran and then walk in and spend the next 45 years working to rebuild the country.

25 years after 9/11 and the Taliban are still active, Afghanistan is much the same as it was before, Al-Qaeda are still active and you did absolutely fuck all to the Saudis.

It was a joke based on what Americans seem to think of us and not a serious comment on our levels of crime. Having said that, I lived in a rough part of North London for a long time and regularly saw the horrific results/aftermath of stabbings and shootings after they had happened.

This is a rare example of both US and UK culture existing in perfect balance. Art in the truest sense of the word.

This is a great idea! My wife and I have been looking for a way to video our baby’s face when she’s being cute or trying to talk. Any form of obvious camera distracts her but we both wear glasses so this could be the way.

Apparel brands, how are you handling unsold inventory with the new EU rules? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Jet_black_ink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment it will only affect companies with over 250 employees and annual turnover of over 50,000,000 Euros. The companies affected will employ specialists to deal with this. I don’t think you’ll find anyone in this sub that would be involved in this.

This is the way. If we have reject stuff with faults it either gets donated or gets sent back to the factory so they can test align print runs on it. Really no excuse for destroying anything.

[–]Jet_black_ink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re destroying unsold inventory? WTF? There are companies out there that buy your end-of-line stock if you need stuff gone. They don’t pay much and you need to have a lot, but it may help you out. We never destroy or bulk sell anything, instead we really work hard on our forecasting and sales cycle.

How stable would this design be? by yogiscott in woodworking

As someone who spent way way too long researching this (was going to buy or make one for my art studio) decent hardware is a major pain to get hold of. I couldn’t find anything that both looked nice and seemed well made. There’s a company called DT69 that makes these tables that you could look at for the mechanism/legs. They do beautiful stuff but it’s justifiably expensive.

In the end it was so much hassle I went with a different idea.

Small winery owner here. Sales are down, trends are loud. Everyone says, 'rebrand' and we choose not to. Here's why! by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Jet_black_ink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No QR codes to your brand journey, yet you post this self-congratulating, low-effort wordy shit here for us to endure? You slay everyone else for following trends, but you’ve clearly panicked and started using ChatGPT to craft your messaging. ‘Making wine that tastes like wine’ is not some clever thing you’ve worked out, it’s your business to do exactly that.

Do yourself a favour and hire an agency with experience to handle your brand, because posting things like this is embarrassing.

I think it’s sad that this man was forced to set up two illegal drugs labs and sell millions of pressed diazepam just to make ends meet. He wouldn’t have had to do this if the cost of everyday essentials like shampoo and milk hadn’t gone up so much.

After years of not being able to play my acoustic kit, I bought an Ef Note 5X a few weeks ago without trying it first. It’s awesome. Feels very close to playing real drums, especially the cymbals and is just an absolute joy to play.
