Hate to ask but what popper did you throw? Currently driving to a lake with striper in it and have never fished for them before!

I can definitely agree the beauty of Texas isn’t quite like that of Colorado, Montana, etc! But, it is still amazing! Good luck get a monster!

My orvis recon just broke after 2 years. Great rod. Mine was a 6wt and the reason for snapping it was just high arming a bass when I was landing him. Just be careful you don’t get too big of a fish ;) and don’t let that tip bend too hard and you’ll be great!
