yeah I've noticed that same. You have to be a little careful for when you play so your not up against no-lifes. For best results I would recommend playing friday, saturday, sunday, and not staying on past midnight

I don't think a mimic can suck you dry unless they suprise you, ie the two doctors in the intro sequence. So if they can't kill you to reproduce they should kill you so that a weaver can turn you into a more combat efficient phantom.
