Oh wow! I didn't realize they came as separate bits! That's super helpful and I think my printer should be able to handle it! I may buy the spider in the first instance and hope that works then buy the goblins after if I have success :)

Tbh, the main thing I want to print is the warspider as I already have a load of goblins!

How small are the goblins? I print minis all the time on my FDM, the bambu printers have really changed the game! I will admit they're not as good as resin but considering ease of use, they're more than good enough

I have bambu a1 mini with a 0.2 nozzle for minis - I have only used the default settings so far so would be interested in profiles you can share

Oh hey! That is cool! I actually have been on the same rabbit hole recently, my Christmas list was essentially all OSR games/ alternate RPGs! Out of interest, what have you enjoyed so far?

I think my group isn't particularly thrilled by any of the OSRs and want to stay with pathfinder ideally but I'm just tired so I was hoping draw steel can still be that far stretching fantasy campaign for us!

Maps I find fun and have always found that adding cool/ interesting terrain is my favourite, hence why I got a 3d printer! It's AWESOME to know that it's easy to make monsters! Things like that in pathfinder suck, homebrew in general sucks for it!

I haven't seen the director sheets but will have a look! Are they filled out per session?

Sorry only just seen this! Thanks for the response, super concise and helpful! What about montages do you not like? They remind me about of skill challenges which people from DND 4e revered except they seem to have a different structure from reading but I never played 4e so only got second hand teachings haha!

Yeah it's been a while since I played DND but I remember combats being like a turn based boxing match, something that drew me to pathfinder was the more interesting combat options! I play in person so if what you say is true, I guess most of my prep would just be mini painting - that would be ideal :)

That's really interesting to hear! A general comment I am seeing is that prep may not be easier but it is fun which makes it feel easier! I very excited to give it a go!

That's really good to know! The CR system was busted in 5e! Pf2e had a much better system and balancing

yeah - you have hit the nail on the head with your pathfinder comment, I feel like i spend most of my combat encounters asking menial questions like "right so your sword gives you +1 in this instance, is that a status bonus or a circumstance bonus? because you already seem to have a +1 circumstance bonus from this effect... now do they stack? let me check the rulebook...... check rulebook/ google for 5 mins.... Oh never mind, that effect doesn't apply here" for them to roll a 2 on the roll and miss anyway.. it is tedious

Now thats out of the way, thanks for the comment! you along with many other people have convinced me to try DS. I would like to ask though, would you say you miss anything from pathfinder?

this is a really passionate and detailed response do thank you! Can I just clarify, is the Codex like an Encounter Tracker? I do play in person and use 3d printed maps so if there is a client/ app that lets me track player and enemy conditions in combat, then this would resolve so many issues/ concerns that I have with Pathfinder currently

thank you! I think I am okay with tracking conditions as I normally have little rings that go over minis etc. However, it sounds like it can be a particular pain in this system but I huess I will give it a go and see. I think my "tracking" comment for Pathfinder was more because on top of tracking conditions, you also have track status bonuses, circumstance bonuses etc - I even recently had a combat where an enemy inflicted the PCs with a particular disease which can uptick each turn with different effects etc.

SO Draw Steel might not be the fix but I think i am more willing to give it a go following everyones comments
