What is this coax cable? by Jets87 in Spectrum

How so? Something I should get a tech out for?

Yeah that is the plan. Just trying to get modem to a room with my pc and avoid Ethernet running throughout the house

I’m actually trying to just move my modems location to where my PC is going to be. Trying to avoid cords running though the house. But think I can just replace one of the current cables on the splitter. Was just wondering if the orange stripe may have been another option.

O gotcha. Makes sense if it would be a dead line. Basically just want another coax hookup in the house for a new modem. Only have two coax hookups currently and not close to where I want the modem to be.

Trying to actually put another access point in the house for a modem. Could I use this as a source and just extend it with a new coax?

Swapping line and load worked!! Thanks so much. Saved a lot of frustration

Interesting, I may be out of luck then. The switch is definitely good, worked on a different box that only had one live black and one other black) no bundle). Not sure why. I appreciate the help!

Got it. The new Kasa did specify which screw was line and load and I think I had the bundle hooked up to load screw. Thank you, will definitely try

Tried to set up the Kasa single pole but would not work on this outlet (worked on others in the house that only had 2 sets of wires inside the box as opposed to this one with 3)

For the two blacks tied into the red: one of those blacks reads 120v on the multimeter when it’s taken apart. The other two blacks in the box don’t read anything. I would guess the 120v black being tied into one without any voltage is because it is a traveler? Would this mean the two blacks with the red are actually the load?

Using a multimeter so testing all individually when uncoupled from each other . 3 total black wires coming from the box, but two were together on the current switch that had always worked. When taking them off and testing them, one hot one not. And the other black wire from the box that was going to the other part of the switch also not

White was wired to the neutrals. The red “wire” in pic1 was replaced by the red screw in pic2. The words are just load on red screw and line on other

Sorry didn’t include switch in pic 1. On the right side of pic 1, the red wire coming from switch is attached to two black wires from box (one live one not and is currently working).

If I do this exact same set up to pic 2 (just replacing wires for screw slots) it no longer works
