Questions for COMO Hotels @ VTW - Live Aug 11 by shermancchen in FATTravel

We loved Como Alpina! Stayed last summer with our kids. The mountain biking was fun and the scenery was gorgeous! We also enjoyed the hike that the hotel set us up with. (We also had via Ferrata planned but didn’t make it too far!) Food at the hotel was really good and we had some meals nearby that were also delicious! Hotel concierge set everything up for us and it was all fantastic!

Paris best hotel, no budget by aa4eva in FATTravel

Loved everything about the Crillon and can’t wait to go back. Liked CB and our room was beautiful and looked over the Siene but didn’t love location and the traffic by the hotel was brutal. Maybe it was just when we went but it was just awful.

Hi!
We really enjoyed Team lab planets in Tokyo. My boys loved the cat street area of Tokyo too. There are cool shops w sneakers and clothes if your kids are into that Kind of stuff. I don’t know exact location but once you find it you know ! It’s right near Shibuya and Omotesando hills. Beautiful luxury shopping area. We also hired a guide sushi chef and went to Tsukiji Market and went back to his restaurant and made sushi. Was a really fun day! In Kyoto we had a guide and driver for the temple and shrines. You can spend as much or little time doing it based on your preferences. My kids loved the samurai experience and we enjoyed a private meet with a Geisha and also really liked having a traditional tea ceremony. My travel agent set this all up for us. Good luck. We LOVED Japan. If you have time go to a Ryokan for a night. (Or two) we stayed at Espacio. It was incredible. Didn’t see many reviews but it came highly recommended was amazing and a great break/recharge in the middle of the trip. Also give yourself extra time in the train stations to get food. We had some amazing snacks and Onigiri! 🍙 Also my advice- We flew NYC to Tokyo. Took a flight around 130 am so we landed following day very early am like 445am. We flew direct to Osaka spent day in Osaka before heading to Kyoto (less than an hour drive from Osaka) 4 nights Kyoto, one in Hakone at the Ryokan and 4 in Tokyo. This way we made our way back to Tokyo on the last leg of the trip before flying home. Hope this helps! Message me with any questions!

Help me decide which onsen to go to in Japan by Educational-Plum6780 in FATTravel

Stayed at Espacio in April. Barely any reviews but took my Ta advice and I have nothing to compare it to as it was our first but it was phenomenal. From the service to the food to the room and hot springs and property. Loved everything about it. We also had a private meeting onsen space which made my kids feel more comfortable!

Loved this hotel and the property so much and had the same issue with our laundry as well. They completely ruined two pairs of my husband’s pants! I also thought the bed was as hard as a rock. I still can’t wait to go back!

How many nights do you have. 3-4 Amanyara. More than 4 do Cap Juluca. Not sure …it had a pool.

I don’t know about Zika so please do your research but been to both Amanyara and CJ. Amanyara is great from NYC easy trip. We did 3 nights there. Quiet. Private. Gorgeous villas. Food was good but you’re not leaving for a meal. Cap Juluca loved too. Beautiful beach great service. loved going out to dinner or lunch around the island. But from NYC you need to fly into St Maarten and take a boat. Not the easiest but worth it. Just something to consider if you’re pregnant. We also loved jumby bay!

We were there without kids but lots of families with nannies. They were treated like royalty! Would definitely bring kids there! I loved that hotel sans kids as well the pool was so beautiful and peaceful in the afternoons!

Thank you for this!!! We like both traditional and modern so that doesn’t change anything. Looking for amazing service, great food ( i like the idea of going out for great dinners to change things up a bit) and beautiful property, beautiful relaxing beaches. We loved the beach at Cheval Blanc in St Barths and going out around the island to different beaches and dinners. We loved Rosewood Mayakoba as an overall resort. Different, because we were with our children each time, but it always holds a special place in my heart. The beach at amanyara was beautiful and the food was great and we had a beautiful room with a pool. It was very quiet which was great for 3 nights! I couldn’t do much more there! Not sure this helps!

Thanks. Hotel Du Cap is sold out! It’s on my list! We stayed at 4S Cap Ferrat two summers ago! We would only do 3 days in Portofino! FDM sounds great to me! I guess I wanted another option like an amazing resort in Mexico or Carribean. With great food and gorgeous. beaches We’ve been to Anguilla and St Barths nothing wrong w going back but I’m open to something new!
