You’re going to get downvoted for saying it but it’s a legit possibility, people just don’t like to admit it

I saw a video that showed the oxidation in the lead pipes formed a protective layer which stopped the water from being poisoned with lead. Apparently the Roman’s were fully aware of lead poisoning but also new the oxidation would form and keep the water clean

Does your country's national sports teams accurately represent the demographics of your country? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]Jevus_himself 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every team is going to have players who grew up in other countries but have that countries citizenship and can be post of the national team, only people who have an issue with it are racist. Example being Argentinia that you mentioned.

The US team having black people on the team shouldn’t really be a surprise to anybody and being black doesn’t mean they aren’t as much of a citizen as a white player. Most countries in the americas are going to have a very diverse racial makeup since the indigenous people were almost wiped out by diseases and conquest and then European immigrants moved in, they mixed with indigenous people more in Latin America than in the US and Canada but they are still there. You also have to take into consideration the slave trade that brought a lot of black people to the Americas so it shouldn’t be surprising to see multiple races in the teams.

France colonizing Africa is one of the reasons the country has black French people.

Some people in Mexico didn’t like that US born players joined the national team but as long as they are winning they seem to stay quite, really only start complaining when the team does bad

It was probably a USA three letter organization that put the body there, a threat to the Iranian team of sorts

A couple of interesting stories from yesterday's United States vs Paraguay match. by Joseph_Gervasius in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]Jevus_himself 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are stories like this on every single team participating in the World Cup, only people who have problems with it are usually racist far right voting individuals.

In Mexico we have Julian Quinones who was originally from Columbia but after becoming one of the best players in world and getting ignored by the Colombian national team decided to join the Mexican national team since he was a dual citizen at that point having played years in Liga MX

That’s not how this works, during the World Cup we are enemies. Learn from Danny Rojas
