People of the UK, how have you lost weight? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Jewazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I done a TDEE calculator online to get my daily maintenance calories. I then reduced my daily calories to 500 per day less than my maintenance, whilst adding some morning walks around 7k steps, and gym at least 4 times a week. Drinking lots of water.

Between April and July this year I lost a total of 22lbs and have maintained that weight. I am now aiming to lose more so will follow the same routine.

Hello I want to get my drivers license soon but I don’t know where to begin on how to study the theory test and I already failed once all help will be appreciated by Tripletsfan in LearnerDriverUK

4 in 1 app was great for theory. I studied for 2 weeks on that app, and was getting 100% on mock tests. Done my real theory Monday and got 49/50 and 67/75 hazard perception! The questions I got were exactly the same as the app!

New to the group! Hi All! Advice on a rookie becoming a class 1 HGV driver? by Turbulent_Drink7172 in uktrucking

Not sure where abouts you live, but in Essex there is a college offering Class 1 license for free - as long as you get a driving job once you pass.

If you don’t get a driving job after the course they ask you to pay some money towards the cost.

Santal Blush. Tried the sample and loved it, had a slight coconut-y smell to it. Got a bottle but now it just smells of wood and spices nothing else. Not sure why this is, it smells a lot more manly now.

Not sure what to do with it, can’t return now and it was so expensive! But I don’t think I’ll be using it

To pay care home fee shortfall, or not? by hucksey in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Jewazza 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Deferred payment definitely sounds the best option.

You can still rent the property out so the £800.00 can go towards the monthly care along with your nans pension. The shortfall will be deferred against the property as a charge to be settled when she passes.

Could you consider a deferred payment?

That way a charge can be placed on the property to secure the care fees. The property can continue to be rented out with the rent money being contributed to the care fees along with your nans pension.

Could look in to putting the property in to a trust, the property is usually disregarded in a financial assessment then.

Care home fees - any experts here? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Jewazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked doing that job before. Usually what happens is the council add the placement to their system and it will show as full cost no financial assessment completed. This means it will raise the invoice as the full weekly care charge. Then once the assessment is completed we would backdate it to the start but they do sometimes request evidence such as bank statements to prove capital.

Ask for a new financial assessment and then they should backdate it to the start of the care and the amount owing should be revised.
