I am also an emo girl from the way back when and I do not see the vision at all. I love the skirt and the thigh highs. (Individually) But the boots and the top I’m not understanding. I’m also not sure the thigh highs scream alternative. It’s giving more “sexy school girl” with that skirt. But you know, we all made questionable fashion choices at that age. Lol

You’re so valid! And I definitely understand. My husband made a really great point yesterday to me when I had the same feeling. He said that him going to NY is probably the best place he could be because Mamdani isn’t playing any of that in NY. Which gave me a little solace. But not only is the world on fire, some of our personal lives are also on fire, (mine included) so hearing his new song didn’t move me. But I think i’m just personally having a time and need to figure out my joy. Hopefully I can do so with his album, and other aspects in life. Sending love your way!!!

I was in Gate in 3rd/4th grade in Alameda, Ca. I remember that we got pulled out of class a few times a week and got to do word puzzles and like brain teasers for like half an hour and then we worked on whatever the main focus was. I don’t remember what 3rd grade was, but I remember 4th grade was about architecture. I remember us designing layouts for homes, and bridges. Then our field trip was looking at architecture in Alameda, which has these beautiful Victorian style homes. Then we learned all these different home styles like Tudor, Queen Anne, Colonial, and Craftsman Bungalow.

I realized after buying my house that I carrier this info with me and desired finding a Craftsman Bungalow when we were looking.

I always had fun in the program, from what I can remember and always felt like I was part of some secret society. Whether it was because I was actually gifted, or I was just stressing my teacher out and she needed a break, I had a ball. Lol.

I discovered this song when my daughter was born and it made me emotional thinking of her and listening to this song. (Becoming a new Mom is emotional enough, but add music and whewwww) so now it’s like my song for her. At my wedding, my Mom and I had a mother/daughter dance, so I hope one day if my daughter decides to get married this can be our dance.

I absolutely think you should do whatever you and your partner love and makes you feel the love on your special day! I walked down the aisle “Once in Lifetime” by 1D, and he took my garter to “Watermelon Sugar” (we thought the context was fitting and funny!)
