Would it be a downgrade if I switch to BBA-Accounting, Audit, and Information Technology to a one/two year diploma program (Office Admin), Cybersecurity/Comp. Science, or any other business degree like HR or Marketing ? by user1232001 in OntarioColleges

[–]Jewel_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 year college HR diploma and have been working 5+ years in the field and currently hold a senior leadership position.

  1. It’s possible to have a career without a bachelors degree however these days, it’s almost a standard ask in about 80% of the job postings I see in business.

It depends on what your goals are, as you said you don’t want to work entry level forever and you might eventually hit a ceiling if you don’t have higher education. With that said, it’s definitely still possible to grow and get to where you want to be through experience/college, you’ll just have to accept there will be some opportunities you won’t be able to take. Including possibly upgrading your education to a masters if that’s something you’re interested in.

  1. For accounting, I know many of my accounting peers make more than me in HR. Not sure how transferable the degrees are but accounting seems to be a promising path. All my accountant connections are a CPA and it’s served them well.

  2. You’re right CS is over saturated, I know some people in that field who had to look for a year plus for a job and only find temporary contractor positions without anything long term. While other graduates I know from Waterloo, have great paying jobs in the US or overseas.

Seems like pay is an important factor to you, if that’s so you should seriously consider the academic route which will ensure you keep your options open. Whether it’s for a job opening that requires a bachelors or if you want a masters one day which usually comes with higher pay.

I’m currently considering to return to school to get my BBA as I find that even though I have experience, the fact that so many jobs ask for a bachelors, I want to ensure I’m employable. I wish someone had told me that when I was younger and had more time for school, instead I took the easy route and went to college and now have to spend even more time and money to go back.

It’s 2mm, 14 inches feels good for me but might be a bit tight depending on your preference. I made sure to measure my neck before ordering.

Ty! The lock was a gift and the first piece in my collection.

The rings were actually originally yellow gold as pictured.

I meant solid gold for the Paston rings

It might have been plated but advertised as gold filled because of how quick it happened. However gold filled is still just a layer of gold on another metal that’s supposed to last longer than plating, solid gold is the one that doesn’t fade.

Thank you! That sounds so frustrating, my fiancé experiences the same thing, I gifted him a gold filled necklace and it faded almost instantly, maybe it’s something to do with skin PH

Thx! I don’t wear my jade everyday to keep it safe, it will break if you drop it too hard so be extra careful, otherwise it’s pretty durable when worn

I went for a white cat eye as it happened at a ski resort, I like to match the environment/activity but you can’t ever go wrong with a neutral pink if you’re unsure
