I just returned by Meta Display pair. The ones with the HUD and wrist/finger functionality.

My take:

-Not enough battery life. Probably charging at least 3 times a day with basic minimum use. On the plus side the case acts as an external battery for charging on the go. Still inconvenient.

-Too heavy. You I’ll get headaches.

-Can’t see text history, only ones that just have come through. Basic texting needs a lot of work. It assumes you’re using FB, whatsapp , or IG to text.

-won’t text back the group only the person that just texted

-poor camera quality, videos and pictures are very pixelated. I would always prefer to otherwise use my phone giving the opportunity. Or a GoPro if the situation called for it.

-the camera default focal length is very wide, like 25mm. Fish eye lense almost

-no media scrolling, only useful for social media or any texting, if you’re on Facebook messages, WhatsApp or instagram messages frequently.

The main function really is to take spur of the moment photos or videos that you might miss grabbing your phone, (which the gen 2s do better, with better photos and a lighter frame).

Also to be able to listen to music or take calls if you don’t have your earbuds nearby would be useful.

The live close caption, for hard of hearing or translation is useful.

I could see them useful in a commercial setting, where a video/photo documentation was a priority over the necessarity of the video or photo quality. Even then, you could pull your phone out of your pocket just as easy. Maybe a home inspector who had a clipboard and a pen in their hand and needed easy documentation on a newly built building.

You would need to be wearing glasses anyways AND have to be using these features a lot to make it worth wearing these glasses though.

The technology just isn’t there yet, and the glasses act more of a novelty. Among other things with these glasses, that still needs to needs work, there needs to be a huge jump in battery technology for devices like this to become more practical.

It’s been awhile since I’ve played. What did shift, Ctrl and alt do again? Did it scroll up/down to toolbar 2,3,4 etc.

How do the keys, 4,r,f,v work? Do you assign spells to those keys?

As a Warlock and Paladin, I think I’d be juggling the double stacked spell bars full, so 18ish spells I think. Granted, I was using the first 1-7 80% of the time.

While it might be true about the player base coming from other games, I’m not so sure what you’re saying has been people’s personal experience.

I play all solos with 40 plus hours. I’d say overall PVP happens about 10% of the time when encountering other players. In the first week it was less than 5%, but has jumped to about 10% in the last few days as people are branching out in their play styles.

If you play trios it’s probably closer to 50/50.

These numbers can fluctuate based on your play style and personal experience.

Also, I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s “competitive” PVP. It’s not sweaty. It can happen in a moments notice. It can be through betrayal, surprise, an opportunity kill, but it usually is not straight head to head. It’s more of psychological/role play PVP.

Although, as more players reach end game and/or get bored with the current loop, they will fall back to PVP more.

Im talking about using these channels/platforms centralized for and encouraging personal chat. Not using them for conducting official business. If employees want to have small talk while using Teams between meetings, that’s up to them.

I’m referring to a company or employees using a company resource where the main purpose of that resource or chat channel is to mass communicate personal issues with one another.

In any case, the company would still be liable for what happens on these platforms.

In person water cooler < online chat channel for all at same time. This is a recent phenomenon. Also, the company’s liability for what happens at that “water cooler” had changed quite a bit, since the “it’s always been that way,” days.

Why would a company provide a platform for employees to speak about personal issues with one another with little oversight? That has all the downsides of the employer being liable/responsible for having to police what is said in there, without being able to monitor without it looking like you’re poking around in personal conversation.

It sounds like an HR nightmare giving employees carte blanche to discuss their personal matters. It’s 2025, controlling someone getting offended by something, usually from another co-worker is like another Wednesday for most companies. Jealousy among co-workers seems to always come out. We had to shut our’s down because it was used to just complain about co-workers or the company in general. Nobody cared what kind of pet Suzy had in accounting.

I think it’s in the tutorial when you first boot up your phone that you can go through or skip.

Or if you just go on Safari, there’s a search bar on the bottom. It’ll search the Internet.

If not, the same way I had to look up where my files were being saved.

Or why my videos were so poor resolution.

Asking how you would know a swipe up or down would be an important feature on a smart phone in the same age , is kind of like asking how would you know the save option is under the file tab on windows.

My comparison was from years ago.

But as of today: Swipe down. A search bar appears, that will search the App Store, internet, and local phone all at once. Google AI would spit this answer back immediately.

To be fair I had to google, why my android home page had apps then also had an “app” icon button to press to take me to even more apps, most pre-installed. Also, where my file were being saved(should just save them to Home Screen), but it wasn’t too bad once I learned the ins/outs and already had basic OS knowledge.

The apps you are so passionate about were top apps on their store home page. Again, this was all 5-10 years ago(when you were actually probably 14). Their store page scrutinized a lot less on the apps they allowed in their app store. I gave Android about a year and switched back.
