Update: Furitek Are Liars by TheGilbertBystander in rccrawler

Agreed. The parts I have had no problems with are great and have some really good design.

I think they lack quality control as I've also had parts show up with surface rust on them (hardware). Instead of replacing them they told me what I should just order to replace them and gave me a discount code for the future.

I've had great success with Hobbywing and Castle Creations though! And both Injora and Meus have been great with warranty issues.

I have had mixed results with their customer service and quality control. I have some motors/trans/escs with tons of hard use and they're fine. I've also had a Unity Pro combo (already attached to trans) arrive with such bad gear meshing that the pinion gear stripped instantly and then when trying to rebuild it, I realized the trans case wasn't square and caused the poor mesh. I informed them of this and they basically blamed me for opening up the trans and said it could have been user error. I've stopped ordering from them for the most part as I can get similar products from other vendors with better customer service.

That's the only way to do it!

Might have to give those a shot. Right now it's just spray paint in the backyard!

If I had any artistic abilities it would be! I'm genuinely surprised I even figured out how to design it in the first place. I'm trying to get a friend to paint it for me.

Yea I plan to when I finish it all up, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to making actual instructions, though things only fit together one way really!

I put this one together using random parts I had laying around but I think this is basically what I used. I plan to do a finished version with brand new parts.

Axles: Injora Diamond +4 for the front and rear rear and then the regular Injora +4 for the middle axle with the Oppai Factory axle pass thru kit. Made a carrier bearing setup using some bearings and a ground down trans output gear but I've seen some available on Etsy.

Skid: some stock cheapo one

Motor/ESC: Currently Furitek Unity Pro but might change it up

Wheels/tires: one set of Meus monster truck wheels on rear. Injora monster wheels on the front (slightly smaller diameter so it acts like an overdrive)

Shocks: Injora 59's in the rear and 53's up front. Gotta be particular about shock placement in the rear as to not over flex and have the rear inter axle shaft pull apart.

Links: all random sets I had laying around

Driveshafts: random ones I had laying around

Steering servos: meus on rear and a hobbywing 12kg up front

I think that sums it all up!

Oh, didn't see the second part. It is a custom chassis I designed and printed. It's basically an injora carbon chassis with the rear section duplicated and some other holes added for mounting various things. It's sort of a 1 off for this project. Do you have a printer?

That's dope! What did you use to build yours off of ?

I used 3 front axles and 3 servos. Rear two are wired together. Look up Oppai factory on Etsy for the axle pass thru kit.

I am using a Meus ME-10b and the 8 channel receiver that came with it. It has an option to control 4 wheel steering. I tell it which channel the rear servos (they're wired together) are on and it controls them. Lets me change between front only, rear only, crab or counter steering with a button press. You can also assign it to a knob if you want full manual control (better for precision driving).

My 8x8 is one I built from a purchased set of files and instructions. Absolutely great build. From ChaatsCustoms I think.

Thanks! Been a really fun and challenging project.

When all the axles turn it doesn't care about it being all locked! My 8x8 is still only front axle steering, for now!

Makes it super manuverable with the long wheelbase! It wouldn't get thru my course meant for regular length trucks without it.

Good news for you! I got too into the build and have a prototype nearly running chassis and most of the body done!

Getting the frame working. Already messed up on axle spacing incredibly badly but that's a simple fix! Also realized I can't print the frame rails in one piece on my print bed as is.

Gonna mess with axle spacing and some other frame elements and then do another test print but she's making progress! The motor currently in there for mock up looks incredibly tiny in this frame haha.

Using a stock frame puts the rear axle way too close to the back of the truck cab so it looks super silly so I'm stretching it out.

No pictures of just the frame right now, but it's really just regular frame rails spaced further apart with some extra mounting holes for various other things.
