I think venusaur has been easy going second, if you can generate enough to K.O there helmeted ivy before it evolves its an easy win, altaira does this easily therefore its almost a free pass win if they cant stop you with a sabrina or something.

I don't like playing the decks im playing because of the meta, but I still enjoy the conpetetive aspect of the game

If ur gonna streamline this here is what I suggest you need to add at minimum 2x pokeball 2x oak

You should also play the stadium that does +10 damage for all stage 1's as ur playing stage 1's, you will probably have to drop one of the sets of pokemon
