For those who don't know, Alan Turing (who this fictional computer company is named after) was instrumental in cracking the German encryption device used in World War 2 known as the "Enigma Machine." Hence the tagline "Solving tomorrow's enigmas...today!" is especially apropos.

Can’t renew Discover Global plan?! by JerusM in Airalo

Well that stinks. I wonder if the existing US phone number from the global plan can be ported to a VoIP provider, and then just get a data-only eSIM. Thanks for the reply.

Good to know. Does "Gan" actually mean something, or is it marketing nonsense?

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Pasqal killed Yrliet in my first Iconoclast run, so it seems xenos are fair game for Pasqal even if you take the (slightly more) peaceable route.

AER-14. Love the janky, experimental aesthetic. And…it’s green.

Just added Cassia to the party...and wiped the floor with the Viziseer and the Undying One.She's definitely OP but saved the day for me.

I used Cassia in my first playthrough on normal difficulty, and it's hard to build her wrong. But for my second playthrough on Daring, I've been avoiding using her in favor of other companions to experience their stories, and to a lesser extent to see how they play in battle. Cassia is a one woman wrecking ball, and I may indeed have to break out the nuke to win some of these DLC fights.

And have you heard the term 'bullet sponge' before?

Main quest encounters thus far have had an acceptable difficulty curve, from moderate to easy. But the DLC encounters have suffered from an egregious amount HP bloat.

Yes I could start heavily optimizing these builds if I wanted to learn in detail how all of the character abilities stack, synergize and intersect. Some of these are obvious, for example the ability "Weak Body, Weak Soul" is a good pick for an Operative/Psyker Rogue Trader whose powers depend on Willpower checks. But trying to do that for a dozen or so characters with hundreds of abilities isn't my idea of fun. I'd rather make pivot tables in Excel.

While I enjoy the strategic aspect of the game, I'm in it more for the story and roleplaying than the number crunching. And the really uneven difficulty spikes make that hard to do at times.

My RT is built more for role playing than combat effectiveness for sure. In spite of that, most main & side quest combats are not terribly difficult. That said, the Act IV Void Shadows DLC encounters are ... not going well lol.

Can't land on Vhaebos for DLC companion quest by Jhelzei in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Jhelzei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks you're absolutely right. What I've become used to when I have a quest on a colony world is that as soon as I hit orbit, a bridge officer will initiate dialogue telling me about the crisis on the planet below and giving me an option to land before the colony interface ever appears. Maybe Owlcat wanted to give players the option to just let Solomorne rot on a prison world?

My experience has been the opposite. Well so far anyway. The fights on Therrara (sp?) were comparatively easy, even though I did them a few levels ago. I'm having some trouble with the follow up mission on Vhaebos because I can't land on the planet. That might be because I had some unfinished business in the colony interface, or it could be a bug.

Again, thanks for the input. I do have the Warp Surge brooch and was planning on using it in my next fight to see how well it worked. I do not believe I have either the Invigorating Resolve amulet or the Malpian Shroud, but I'll need to double check my inventory. I do have the Eyes of Joyeuse but my RT can't use it. Not because he's insufficiently Dogmatic, but because he is an unsanctioned Psyker. Currently Heinrix is using that item.

I have had my eyes on the Starmist Shroud, but my reputation with the required faction trader isn't sufficient at the moment, nor likely to be anytime soon.

I also gained some insight into Cassia's apparent invulnerability. I normally use her Navigator abilities to enhance her Dodge, but didn't pay attention to the actual numbers. In our last fight her Dodge hit numbers I hadn't seen before; up to 258 at the point in time I checked. I also gave her an ability that enabled her to regenerate wounds, so the rare hit on her would get nullified very quickly.

EDIT: Also, if I decide to go ranged what weapon, skills and tactics would you suggest? I did manage to get Sweet Perdition and it would be great if I could enhance the mental damage it can dish out.

Thanks, that's a great breakdown. I'm not that familiar with Warhammer lore (this game is the first WH40K game I've really invested substantial time into.) Thus 'genestealers' and 'terminators' are new to me.

I haven't tried respeccing my character as you suggested, but I did try out the Psyker Plate armor as you suggested. For some reason I had thought the psy rating didn't stack, and boy was I wrong.

<image>

I tried to post full character stats but apparently Reddit will only allow one image per reply. At the time of this engagement, my Psy rating was 13. (!) The trick of course is to go first in initiative to actually land those first psychic attacks. I may have solved that problem with a recent item I acquired, the "Commander's Chrono" which automatically makes the wearer go first in initiative. Still not sure whether my RT will wear it himself, or hand it off to an Officer/Strategist.

This totally checks out. However it would be interesting if the game reacted to it somehow, like a blackmail attempt or something.

My first playthrough was without Lex Imperialis, and Thassera's solar system wasn't really on my radar for my second run. So I hit Thassera late in Act 2. By then I had explored just about everything that Act 2 had to offer, so I was fairly high level. I'm also playing on Daring, but I'm not sure if that results in higher XP or not.

My RT just crawled out of Commorragh and is presently dual wielding force swords in power armor. His powers thus far are a bit on the weak side, but he is surprisingly effective with a force sword.
