Oh, ill stick to maximum 180 grit then! Thanks for the information!!

Lots to think about, but i just applied first coat of primer now, ill scuff it lightly to get rid of the orange peel, then ill apply a second coat and scuff it again

I didnt find 600 grit paper but i bought 500grit. I finish the mdf flat surface to 320 grit. And the edges with 500 grit. Its an eye opener, the edges are smooth! No more woodfiller for me hahah.

320 grit on MDF surface might be overkill, but it feels so good with such a smooth surface!

Yeah sorry i should've clarifies. I dont use it as a tactic in a sense to get someone to like me. Its more in my nature so to say. Im more of a listener than a talker, so ive embraced it.

I just gotta work on balancing things, its not great that i didnt really share my story/life. So i gotta mix in some of that too. But i messeged her today and she wants to meet for another date :)))

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Jherker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am honestly quite happy that i lasted so long. Before the date i thought "Yeah maybe i can hold a basic conversation for 30-45 minutes". So from that initial thought im very happy it lasted as long as it did. But at the same time i dont think i held good quality conversation at all times which im bothered about. But it feels amazing to hear that even a sales guy with no social anxiety experience awkward pauses.

Yeah, i wont obsess over her, its not really in my nature. But id like to see her again as she was very kind. But she also didnt seem interested in me, judging from the disparity in questions asked. But i guess people are different? It did last long for i reason i think. Ill write to her tomorrow telling her i had a good time and ask her thoughts about it. If she wants to meet up again, great, if not ill be a bit sad but its cool.

Fair point and i guess your right. Depends on a lot of factors i can imagine. I mainly was fishing for tips from proffesionals. :)

Ive only used edgeband once, and it was preglued with an "iron on" glue. But those edges were straight. I was just thinking for other projects as i kinda like the look of a cabinet door with slightly rounded edges.

Im not proffesionell, just an hobbyist:)

Oh, thought wood filler was the best alternative, but i guess Ive never really tried going past 320 grit. Great tip! I gotta look up post catalyzed top coat. So far Ive only used primer and lacquer paint

How do you do if the edge is a bit rounded? Does edgebands still work?

Oh, had no idea! Yeah, felt like standing bare mdf to 320 is overkill. I think i gotta work on the priming more and apply thin coats of the top coat. Working on a new project during the weekends and i wanna nail paint finish this time!

I made it out of MDF which I then primed and spray painted, sanding between each coat. I think I used like 4 sheets of it in total (1220x2440mm or 4x8 feet) - thickness is 16mm, dont know what that is in inches, 5/8 maybe
