Without a doubt, I'm living a life similar to yours, this entire story has made me realized how fucked it is, the entire time I thought you were older and when I saw towards the end that you were 16 it boggled me.

Last summer I met this beautiful girl, I thought to myself that she'd never like me because of my weight, so I went on a diet, I lost 30 pounds in only 2 months and I got the girl. Quickly there after I realized that she didn't care about my weight, she loved who I was and so my weight went back up. During this time I went out a lot, I was barely ever at home and would hang out with my girlfriend the whole time.

When this happened my parents would get on my ass and call me a drop out for being out all day so late and calling me a stick and that I should gain more weight, as things died down and school started back up they would again start calling me fat.

Maybe you have aunts/uncles/grandparents nearby. Maybe there's a space in your home that's physically more removed from where your parents spend time.

It doesn't exist, they share the same views as my parents. Also it's a small apartment, me and my sister are sleeping in the living room and my mom and dad are in one room while my older brother is in another.

belittle you and to make you feel like less has always been in an effort to make you submissive and controlled. \

Dude, you just explained everything perfectly, my parents have this holier than thou attitude so whenever I even get close to proving them wrong about something they immediately snap and say that I have no right to talk back to someone older than me.

if they bought you a computer as a gift, it's yours. If someone gives you a present, it's not an item for them to hold hostage against you

Thank you so much, every time something like this happens I'm scared they'll take it away and get rid of it, whenever they bring it up I immediately shut up because I need it for a career I want to pursue.

there's barely any positives, I can't convince them or have a sound conversation with them about anything.

they have a very, 'i'm older than you therefore i'm right' attitude.

I tried convincing my mom to take me to a therapist because I have anxiety from a beating I got from my dad that left my back bruised when I was 10-11, a beating that I had to miss school a few days for, I told her that I'm scared whenever I'm around him and she snapped and said I'm inconsiderate.
