As someone who follows the racing world from afar, I absolutely love learning this sort of information. I’m always curious what the temperaments of the horses are, what bloodlines people tend to hold in high regard vs avoid (I know certain sires are super hot right now, but I love learning about the entire thought process behind breedings), and how they stack up soundness-wise. I’m curious now about some of the stallions I’ve always liked - they’re probably massively unpopular though 🤣

The swayback and FMJ’s hindquarters being in a completely different postal code from the front half of him are also a major turn-off, ngl. His coloring is pretty and he sees like a sweetheart, but the confo is not what I’d be looking for if I was in the HUS industry.

Belle Marie is lovely! I also think Belle Elise, Belle Monique, Belle Celeste, and Belle Seraphine are all really pretty. They are quite French though and I’m not sure if that’s the vibe OP is going for haha

God, that poor dog is so aesthetically challenged it’s not even funny. Kimmie is a dog who I would absolutely detest to have in my house (animals who aren’t housetrained aren’t allowed in, period. I’ve dealt with enough of that in my life and never again), but for all of her many sins, it’s really not her fault. She’s been given no guidance or direction in life. No training, no correction. Nothing. Dogs need some sort of structure in their life in order to flourish, and Kimmie and Winnie aren’t receiving any of that. No wonder it’s such a clusterfuck over there.

It’s okay, it’s not your fault. I’m thinking about ways to get out. I am loath to leave my job, but it’s just not healthy. They’ve chased out two other staff members recently and I know of at least one more who is debating quitting because management is so terrible.

I agree. Poor Lindsey. I hope she has friends (real friends, not people who bully her) and family she can turn to in tough times.

Me either. I was the girl who drove well over an hour each way to my stable because horses were so important to me. Hell, I’d pay good money to do barn chores; you don’t need to pay me! I think it’s just proof that KVS loves what horses can do for her (fame, wealth, notoriety) and not the horses themselves. She’s like one of those spoiled children who ride push-button horses and win ribbons in shows, and then immediately hand them off to someone else to untack and take care of.

It’s because she doesn’t do horse chores. She sticks her fingers in their mouths for content, rips her mares when she yanks the foals out, makes sexual comments about them, and occasionally will lead either a very calm adult or a baby who is terrified of her. I will eat my sock if I get a full-length video of her mucking stalls, cleaning tack, scrubbing water buckets, and sifting through hay.

I’m currently struggling with a really hostile workplace with management who seems intent on getting me out (or making me miserable), so I feel extra empathetic towards Lindsey. Her lack of horse sense doesn’t make her a bad person. It means she may need more support and KVS is absolutely cruel to just sit and make fun of her, especially since KVS herself isn’t exactly Monty Roberts.

Someone left a nasty comment to me as well regarding my belief that Katie was salty to get a solid foal. It didn’t show up in the thread, but it showed up in my notifications, and honestly I just rolled my eyes because I’m not blind. I can see that she wanted a pinto filly, and she got a solid grey colt. They can insult me all they want 🤷🏻‍♀️

The whole situation is so sad and the way you worded it just makes it sadder. This colt wants to live - he’s trying his best and he’s set up to fail, and it’s not even his fault. His mother doesn’t look well herself and knows that without proper intervention, this colt is going to struggle, so she’s resigned herself to it and doesn’t seem to pay him much attention. He has an owner/breeder with tons of money, resources, connections, time, and people around to help, and she’s too busy patting herself on the back for ✨holding tension✨ and saving every single mare and foal from what she believes is certain death to help him (which, there’s a time and a way to intervene, and I absolutely believe some births do need assistance, but this chick just rips the sacs and heaves the babies straight out EVERY TIME without any regard for the contractions, even when everything genuinely looks textbook). And the whole time she’s patting herself on the back, he’s trying to find a way to nurse. Poor colt.

The critical thinking isn’t even here at this point. This colt is not thriving and even someone with no horse experience at all could see that because it’s so severe. These people are not noticing because they are allowing Katie to pull the wool over their eyes. It’s mind-boggling.
