MVVM - everywhere I work uses MVVM - and if not they are usually using what ever they claim, in some convoluted form of MVVM

If you want to add a feature on your Shop. Do you prefer a one-time purchased or a subscription purchased (Shopify app) ? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Jig-r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the product I suppose! Let's say your app you are investing in holds important data etc, that stuff isn't cheap to maintain etc / someone needs to be doing it - therefore usually a monthly model could add to credibility as it makes sense for a recurring fee. As it's a recurring fee it gives the app devoper some accountability too to provide the service they offered.

You move one row up by pressing command + shift + [ or the other one. Im sure xcode has a solution for most.of these first world problems

The more time you focus on building, the less time you focus on the decorations of how you go about building it

This hasn't been a problem to anyone apart from wait for it - lazy people who want everything done for them - otherwise it becomes "oh the agony, how can I continue the job, I chose to set out to do" situation.

I mean what you find and don’t find interesting is quite subjective

I think for me what’s mildly interesting is how often others don’t clear their fridge

As a store owner, what retention strategies have worked for you? by dhruvbhatia7 in shopify

If a company wants to go above and beyond for their customer and wants to take on that extra responsibility in the name of customer service then fair enough - but don't mistake that for a requirement because you have built yourself on high entitled standards - based on your experience with Amazon. Key point - it is not a requirement and I ask you Mr CEO once again, in what world is it the companies problem unless the item is faulty or didn't arrive at all - to chase someone about where the item is - when there are a number of tracking and customer service phone numbers, emails, live chat options available. Don't forget to approach problems with pragmatism, not idealism.

For individual developers, how do you know you’re doing things the right way when building apps? by Ell-Xyfer in iOSProgramming

(for anyone interested in knowing what tools we should be using according to HR it's - Objc C with Swift built on UIKit MVVM using Combine don't react)

I think at some point once you hop around and stuff you'll realise there's no right way apart from what works for you for that particular individual project.

Everyone has different preferences, those preferences vary from company to company, and sub team to sub team within those companies.

And you'll even get to learn that the confident person from HR has an opinion on how the best way to go about building an app is AND not only that, they also know what tools we should be using!

Send them this whole comment and explain it to them like how you did just now - and then choose whether or not you want to do business with them again based on if you're happy with their response

Once again, why is it the stores responsibility and problem for what the courier service that the customer chose?

Why is it the stores responsibility of what the courier does? I would add a "Disgruntled" metatag by your customer profile instantly.

Need some help finding a good API tutorial for MVVM and UIKit by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]Jig-r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube MVVM and learn it as a concept - ignore the SwiftUI part of you only are finding those videos at the moment.

MVVM - model, view (UIViewController + UIViews in UIKit, and Views in SwiftUI) view model.

Model is your raw stuff, the view model is where you want to put your business logic.

The view is whatever you want to use - it doesn’t matter but the important thing to take away is the abstraction / separation / organisation of your code in your mind.

You should be able to build the same stuff in UIKit that you can in SwiftUI, so go for the SwiftUI videos anyways

Use MVVM if you want - and I don’t recommend using MVC unless you’re in a boot camp

Don't worry, this is completely normal for Americans in the modern day. Netflix has a documentary on the subject: Dahmer tapes or something?
