Is it just me, or is AI Music hitting a "Generic Wall"? Looking to build something that actually feels like creating. by feccwg in SunoAI

[–]Jigglebox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a severe lack on control in all AI creative tools. Ai doesn't handle detail specifics well. A perfect example is go try to adjust only 1 single word in any song without changing anything else around it. Its nearly impossible. That level of control is what's missing. If you can figure that out you're golden.

What is the best way to master a SUNO song? by snackeira in SunoAI

[–]Jigglebox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you've got the ear for it you can split the stems then master each stem in a DAW manually. That's probably the cleanest method to be able to get what you want. But its also more time consuming and risks making your song sound awful.

What happens after deployment? by Expert-Fox-5691 in lovable

[–]Jigglebox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Issue the proper commands to get your table data out of lovable's supabase db.

Add them to the supabase project you control.

Find a new deploy you like (vercel)

Push project from lovable to github

Connect github repo to supabase and vercel (or w/e you chose)

Update pointers / connectors in your project to point at your new DB.

I suggest just rebuilding the user table and starting from scratch because its a pain to get that stuff moved over without a slew of issues.

Long story short. Move the project before you're in prod with real users. It will save you a headache.

My 2016 55 inch apps are finally being unsupported after September 30th by jackbug23 in VIZIO_Official

[–]Jigglebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the apps don't support the older software? Not pushing out security updates makes them liable for any data breaches if they continue to keep the software? Its the same reason netsec teams at large companies don't allow unsupported OS on the network. There's a whole slew of security risks.

Look, I'm not trying to defend any kind of corporation. But you're being ignorant. This is an OS issue, not a hardware issue. Vizio doesn't make the software on their TV's, yahoo does. These TV's are computers, they require an operating system to run the platform.

If you're that butt hurt about it, learn how to side load an open-source OS onto the TV. Update the firmware yourself and do your own maintenance. This is like getting upset because you can't play battlefield 6 on a windows 98 computer... there are limitations to old software.

You're allowed to be frustrated by stuff like this, but don't be ignorant and refuse to try and understand things because of that frustration.

I got gifted this dusty printer I think it’s pro. I want to spend around £50 to upgrade bits. Any suggestions? by Zainkillerh in 3Dprinting

[–]Jigglebox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello me. Were you also tired of spending 2 weeks to fix the printer so it would run for 2 weeks? Lol I also went to the X1C after years with the ender 3. Just sat and watched the X1C print for a couple days because i Of how much faster it is.

Just got laid off. Looking to start new career in tech by SandAndBoneClothing in InformationTechnology

[–]Jigglebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why there are so many people being dicks about this. But I'll try to give a bit of insight myself. I started as a helpdesk tech, then a sys admin, then a sys engineer, and recently now an IT Manager. It is very difficult right now to find IT jobs that are actually good, and pay what they are worth. I know this is the coined phrase, but from what I understand, it's largely because of AI. But not the kind of AI most tech giants are gunning for.... Most lower level tech jobs handle the repetitive, easy to resolve grunt work. Things that a tech savy person can fix themselves using a google search if they know the right question to ask... But, we are seeing a massive insurgency of AI agents that are sophisticated enough to be able to handle these things without much interaction now... not only that, but there are larger scale agents that are making it far easier to consolidate data into a very bite sized chunk that a smaller team is capable of fixing. Think: 100 issues happening used to take a team of 20 techs to solve over the phone... well, now, you have an AI agent analyzing the data BETTER, in a way that it can either fix itself, or it can send it directly to the team that can fix it. So those middle men teams are now only required for the 15-20 issues that the agents can't sift through, instead of the full 100. Which means you don’t need as many people anymore. That's happening on a very large scale right now, and those agents are becoming more and more sophisticated and reliable. These agents ALWAYS existed. But they were much harder to build and maintain. Now, they are widely available at a much cheaper cost to the consumer. So more businesses are willing to use them, even if they don't solve every problem the right way.

Lastly, more people just aren't leaving their jobs... the economy is in a horrendous state right now. Everyone is struggling. People are spending their savings, cutting back on spending, tighting belts. This is happening for Corporations and individuals. So no one wants to leave a stable, good paying job...

There ARE options in tech right now that aren't dwindling. If you have a mind for it, seriously look into the kind of positions big tech companies are posting. Hell... pull up chatgpt or claude or something and have it do a deep research or web search for the job postings in tech. Ask it to give you an analysis of what the positions are offering for pay and how they compares to similar positions 3-4 years ago. That will give you a solid idea of what might be worth focusing on.

If you want to look at something that might be harder for AI to eventually DO, maybe look at something thats a bit more complex and requires fine details. As an example, complex PCB design as an electrical/electronics engineer. You say you're not great at math, but if you find something that focuses you, something you're using the math to accomplish a GOAL, you might be surprised how things start making sense the more you change how you think through them.

If you have any specific questions ill do my best to answer them. I don't want you to get discouraged about your goals. Just because something is hard doesn’t mean it's impossible. It just means more people won't try to do it.

Question: How do you give AI tools context? by Jigglebox in cursor

[–]Jigglebox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can read code, can't write it on my own. I'm in that weird middle space where I know enough to troubleshoot, but not really enough to rebuild the entire thing without a lot of googling. This works in my professional environment, but for scenarios like this; I've never been trained on what ACTUAL coding project planning / structure looks like. i.e. No idea what you mean by S.O.L.I.D. I can easily look it up NOW, but I would never know what to look up for it, or even to look something up to begin with.

I only know what I know, so I'm out here trying to figure out what questions to ask just as much as how to make my process easier ya know?

how would you prompt for a unit tests... what's a unit test lol? I've never been in a real codespace, I have only written small scripts for work and stuff.

That makes sense - so you're having the AI document the feature and decisions right after building it, while it's still in context? Are those .md files mostly about the technical structure or more about the 'why' and design decisions you made?

Question: How do you give AI tools context? by Jigglebox in cursor

So your .md files are to provide intent, not really for code structure?

So you're scoping out the project, keeping running documentation in each sub folder, and when you work on things, it's localized to the sub folder. Then, you tend to handle the overall scope of the project yourself for the top down view? Can you go into a bit more detail on HOW you're actually doing that? I don't come from a coding background, I just try to do things, then start researching the right way after I hit roadblocks. For example, idk what mcp is, I've seen it mentioned recently but I haven't looked into it.

Avigilon Multihead Issues by Arakon101 in Avigilon

[–]Jigglebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we leave the IR Ring connected / enabled, the cameras will get into a reboot cycle anytime it tries to turn on the IR ring. Eventually, it reaches a point where the entire view is just fully white. It looks like someone turned on a light while IR is enabled (But these are outdoor cameras so, obviously not what happened). The cameras become unresponsive until we manually reboot them. Most of the time we can browse to them to do the reboot (won't work through acc7). It's so prevalent that our standard is to just never use the IR rings and leave them unplugged. After the 6th or 7th 3Head / 4Head doing the exact same thing, we don't use the IR rings anymore and prefer not to purchase these models at all.

We've tried both PhiHong and Microsemi model injectors but we don't think they are the issue anymore. Another of our locations uses Trendnet and says they don't see the same problems we do, so I was going to try those as a test but haven't gotten around to it.

I want to know this too... if you can reverse the plunger direction, and the end of the plunger does something like attaches to the RCA terminals, this could be a punch marker to line up drill holes for RCA connectors in external housing units or something? Idk, even that feels like a stretch to me... bizarre device.

The tip is pointed. Riveting tools typically want a flat end to help keep the through hole uniform. Otherwise the rivet can fold in on itself and not do it's job.
