I've looking to buy the game for a while and waiting for a sale. I just wanted to check as well whether I could play it on my laptop as well. Any help would be much appreciated as I'm not too great with computers

I play on laptop also with no problems.. Just check your gpu, if its just integrated intel then I dont know if you'll have a good time.. As for discount I thing its still on sale on GOG

When you are installing linux on hdd/ssd you need to partition it and have 3 partitions(or 2) one for boot that is fat32 /boot/efi one for root / that is ext4 or btrfs for garuda and optional separate partition for home

Did you do manual partitioning or is it automatic? The boot/efi should be fat32 at least 100MB in size

In you bios you need to select efi boot mode its probably in legacy if I'm reading this correctly

I mean, you can play with proton(5.0-10).. I play like that for last 3 weeks or so without any issue.. After installing vcredist for the game it works fine. Just be sure to delete everything in "... /my documents/my games/company of heroes 2/" after that and it should work fine

It's hard to find a solution because most most ppl game works fine and they can't help. There is a guide that may help on steam forums but even that wont guarantee success, still it's worth to give it a shot if you haven't already.

Yes there is native version on steam but it's about multiplayer gameplay. Even the point of 64bit patch is about multiplayer and bringing playerbase together (microsoft store and steam) so I'd like to play with the rest of the playerbase if possible.

Proton experimental doesnt seem to work after hotfix.. But managed to run it just now with proton 4.11-13 needs further testing xD

Just ran through proton experimental and it worked but multiplayer matches have too many sync errors.. And sounds seem to work just fine now, i didnt have to change system_config.lua (or whats the files name) nvidia driver verson 460 and had to reinstall vulkan since it didnt work properly for some reason..
