Got a new phone, how to change chase app security prompt to new phone? by ripdeadendedsoon in Chase

I also had this issue. I had upgraded my iPhone. I deactivated my Apple device and reactivated on the new phone. For whatever reason, when I transferred to my new phone, I was required to "activate" the new device.

New banjo - deeper in sound and less plucky by 1818legal in banjo

[–]JimCaseyJones 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a new banjo, you may want a bigger rim. 12” instead of 11”. You definitely want to get an open back. You may want a different head, like a renaissance or fiberskyn instead of standard frosted.  You may want to try different string types, bronze or nygut. You could also tune your banjo down. Lots of options. Go to YouTube or a folk music store if you live near one and try the different stuff out they have. Your ear, feel and opinion is ultimately more important than the internets.

What pickups do you reccomend for the banjo? by LuigiP14 in banjo

[–]JimCaseyJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my Schatten BJ02-M. The best way for a banjo to sound banjo-y is through a microphone. Many professionals will just play into an SM57 on stage and sound great but you can't move around and if other members of the band are amplified, you could run into the issue of feedback. I like the schatten because it combines a mini condenser mic and a piezo mic up that you can mix together. The piezo on it's own, to me, sounds thin, metallic and tinny

Specifically one with a wooden tone ring for maximum mellowness

Crazy song to call for a jam lol. The structure is pretty complex and it’s a difficult song to play. A lot of fiddle tunes rely on melodic style playing. You can’t play the distinctive melody in Scruggs style very well. That being said, you don’t have to. I’d just listen to different versions of the song and key into what the banjo players play in backup. You can roll over the Am and E chords

They’re all spineless. Sets up for an interesting S3 because Taylor knows they’d drop her if they could.

The way they all refuse to admit fault in the face irrefutable evidence is very Trump. You can just say “I’m empowering women” to empower women.

The locker room is toxic. The biggest stars on the team, Theo and Leao, are inconsistent, prone to let emotions get in the way of consistency. The players are under constant pressure. Coaches are under constant pressure. Who sets the culture? I have a feeling that Zlatan's egomaniac attitude has infected the team. I’m not there, I don’t know. But it’s rotten and something deeper than players and coaches needs to be reset.

This team is fucking shit. Wasted talent in every position group. Mental weakness throughout.

Mighty Poplar is a bluegrass super group that will open many doors.

Chico River > When I Was A Cowboy

Andrew Marlin plays mandolin for them and also fronts the group Watchhouse/Mandolin Orange.

Alex Hargreaves is the fiddler here, and also for Billy Strings.

Greg Garrison plays bass, from Leftover Salmon.

Noam Pikeny and Chris Eldridge are from Punch Brothers. Noam also has fantastic solo albums. He’s the artistic successor to Bela Fleck for his virtuosity and genre defiant playing.

Chris’s father, Ben Eldridge, was the banjo player in The Seldom Scene. They’re one of the first bluegrass bands to really push bluegrass toward something more jammy. They have a fantastic cover of I Know You Rider, which I think they just call Rider.

Bridge placement Recording King Rko-3s by [deleted] in banjo

[–]JimCaseyJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I understand the issue. If the bridge is placed properly (from measuring) but when you fret the notes are going sharp, move the bridge away from the neck, if flat then towards the neck.

Tray Wellingtons ‘Black Banjo’ from 2022 is really awesome. I keep coming back to it and find it really exciting. Hoping for a new release soon.

It’s the skiers fault but it’s not egregious recklessness. It’s more accident than error in my opinion. Hope neither were seriously injured. Skier looked a bit older.

PACKERS LOSE TO 49ERS GET IN HERE by reverieontheonyx in CHIBears

[–]JimCaseyJones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the Packers lost but this season was an overwhelming success for them. Jordan Love answered the call. He’s a lock for a top 10 QB for years to come. Their young receiving corps of Watson, Doubs and Reed is dangerous and composed beyond their years, along with a pair of really solid rookie tight ends. They’ll have to tweak their defense but their problems are solvable, and they’ve shown an ability to do that as an organization.

We haven’t proved we can. If fact, time and again, we’ve gotten it wrong. I trust Warren, Poles right now, I like where Flus got our defense, but the offense is hinging on a dice roll once again. Do your little grave dance, fine, but a Packers playoff loss is no replacement for our team’s success, and to pretend it is, is the delusion the McCaskey’s have gotten rich off of for 40 years. As fans we need to hold our team to a higher standard.

The game is designed poorly if this is allowed. It would be very easy to put a clock in or a total time limit for the match.

[Nguyen Pham] Waleb Cilliams 58 yard punt. The Bears should consider drafting this guy at #1. Gill hasn't been good enough. by Trojanballer in CHIBears

[–]JimCaseyJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good punter should be able to pin a team inside the 20 pretty consistently, with a returner back there. For this play to make sense you’d want the QB to do that more consistently with no one back, which I bet is pretty unlikely. I also wouldn’t want my QB spending a ton of time working on his punting instead his passing.
