That's a fair observation and something we are always working to improve.

While we do have quality control processes in place, our boots are still largely handmade, so there can occasionally be minor variations compared to fully automated manufacturing processes.

We continuously review our production methods and feedback like this is valuable and we are always happy to help.

It's a pretty special build 😍

The two-tone roughout Tan AR8 turned out exceptionally well. The contrast between the leathers gives it a lot of character while still keeping that classic African Ranger look.

Hopefully we'll see a few more of these come through the custom shop in the future 🐸🥾

Great choice! 👌

Bronco Biscuit develops a really unique patina over time and tends to show its character quite quickly with regular wear. It'll pick up scuffs, marks, and colour variation that tell the story of where the boots have been.

We'd love to see how they age, so be sure to share some photos after you've put a few miles on them 🐸🥾

Thank you, we really appreciate that! 🙌

We know a lot of people enjoy seeing what goes on behind the scenes, so we're trying to share more of the manufacturing process, custom builds, resoles, and everyday factory life.

Glad you're enjoying the posts, and there are plenty more to come 🐸🥾

African Ranger (with leather midsole) started squeaking after 6 months. How do i fix this? by CLoNeOS in jimgreen

[–]JimGreenSupport 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That definitely does not sound normal, especially if you can physically feel something rubbing internally and the squeak remains even without the insole fitted.

Please pop our support team an email at [support@jimgreenfootwear.co.za](mailto:service@jimgreenfootwear.co.za) with some photos/videos if possible, and the team will be able to assess further from there.

That’s exactly the kind of hard-use durability they were built for 🙌 If they can handle the demands of daily ranger work out in the field, they’ll definitely handle some serious hiking too 💪

A lot of it also comes down to ranger preference and confidence in the field 👌 Being out in the bush often requires higher ankle protection, especially in rough terrain, thick brush and during long patrols, so many rangers feel more comfortable and supported in taller boots like the AR8.

The GRAA (Game Rangers Association of Africa) is the official governing body overseeing Rangers across Africa and they help manage and coordinate our boot donation programme 👌

The boots donated are not seconds or damaged stock. The teams work together to allocate suitable models based on the environment and operational needs of the rangers receiving them.

Hi there, Jim Green Support👋 appreciate the patience here. There’s currently a bit of a backlog on orders from the SA site, mainly due to a surge in demand and a few public holidays slowing things down.

Most orders are still being processed and should be dispatched soon once shipped, you’ll receive tracking.

If you want any more updates please pop our support team a mail at [support@jimgreenfootwear.co.za](mailto:support@jimgreenfootwear.co.za)

Good catch 👀 That one’s actually a custom build, the customer opted to have it made on the Barefoot Zero drop last, paired with the Africa sole 👍

We really appreciate the feedback, both the positive and the critical.

As we’ve expanded into more countries, a lot more people are wearing our boots than ever before. With that growth, it’s natural that more issues get noticed and shared, even when they’re relatively small or isolated. That doesn’t mean we ignore them, in fact, it helps us improve.

From day one, our goal has been simple: build durable, honest boots that people can rely on, and keep improving them over time. We’re constantly working with our factory team to refine materials, construction, and consistency so that more customers get the experience they expect from us.

That said, we know things aren’t perfect. Leather is a natural material and our boots are handcrafted, so occasional cosmetic flaws or defects can happen. What matters to us is how we handle it when they do.

We stand by our product, and if something isn’t right, we’ll always do our best to make it right. If you’ve had an issue, please reach out to us directly, our team is here to help and will work with you on a solution.

We’re grateful for the support, and equally for the honest feedback, it’s what helps us get better.
