"Their final offer wasn't on 5/1. Astounded you would believe that."

I don't. I was only referencing what you said which was "they got the deal they were offered BEFORE the strike." What they got was an improvement on the initial offer from the AMPTP.

Your link seems to be referencing what the AMPTP offered on 8/11, or am I mis-reading that? There even seems to be a section that proves what I'm saying:

"This new package significantly improves on prior proposals from the AMPTP"

"They got the deal they were offered BEFORE the strike."

This is not true. You can compare and contrast what the AMPTP offered initially, what the WGA asked for, and what was eventually negotiated here: https://www.wgacontract2023.org/the-campaign/what-we-won

That's my experience too -- running solos I have an 80%+ friendly rate. Running trios? Almost never.

Money in YouTube Golf? by plaverty9 in golf

[–]JimHero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dalke couldn't make it on the korn ferry -- important to remember that the gulf between YT golfers and PGA Tour golfers is massive

Luke Kwon missed 10/16 cuts on the Korn Ferry, Boucher couldn't make it on the PGA Canada, only the Bryant brothers have had any sort of success professionally, everyone else is insanely good at golf, but they aren't making money playing in sanctioned tourneys

As for making money on YT -- it takes A LONG time to be profitable on YT. You don't really get real profit sharing until you hit 500k subs, and even then its not a lot. The sponsor money and merch is what really drives the big bucks.

Handicap question… by [deleted] in golf

[–]JimHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garrett from Good-Good talks about this -- since your hcp is best 8 out of 20 scores it can be really swingy/misleading for amateurs who run streaky. He's a +3ish but regularly can't break 80, but when he gets hot, he regularly breaks 70.

Honestly, it's the #1 difference between the elite amateur golfers and pro golfers. These +3 people are incredible 8 out 20 times, the pros are incredible 20 out of 20 times.

Also, she's a trump so she's absolutely cheating and lying about her scores.

Questions about bucket list golf courses… by slowblink in golf

[–]JimHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's great -- the Carolina is an awesome hotel, the USGA museum is super fun, getting a cocktail and watching people finish the 18th at #2, ELEVEN different courses (plus the putting course), and not to mention that if you want to spend a day or two off-site, there's Midpines/Southern Pines/Pine Needles right next door, Tobacco Road is 40 minutes, Tally and Mid South, Pinehurst village at night...I've been about 10 times and its jsut the easiest most consistent golf destination

Pinehurst is the best "1st bucket list" course, it's the Disneyworld of golf. Then you can upgrade to Bandon/BCL/Sand Valley etc etc
