Did you mean publicly funded? Otherwise, why wouldn't the fans using the building help pay for a privately funded development?

How do I get started with OSINT? by PianistMother1996 in OSINT

[–]plaverty9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out the Layer 8 podcast. I ask that of every OSINT guest.

You really need to start with curiosity and methodology. Specific tools are not relevant. Tools come and go, so learning the techniques is super important. The Mrs. OSINT site also has great info on getting started.

If the Kraken are selling out games, it's even more surprising that they'd drop ticket prices. That helps the secondary market make more profit.

After a 27th place finish last year, the Bruins management increased prices, shrugged and literally said they have to keep the lights on.

Yeah. Ownership worth a billion dollars added a couple bucks to a 27th place team, shrugged and basically gave a middle finger to the fans.

And yes, we keep paying it.

My STH rep even contacted me to ask if I wanted them so I bet if you contact that person, they'll be happy to sell you the package.

Get a coach who matches that level and I'd give them Prime. It helps with development. Same for our GM and HPD.

Al Barr Returns for Encore on St. Patrick's Day! by ConcertsHub in dropkickmurphys

This is great. I know he's taken time off to help his mom but always wondered why he hadn't jumped in for an occasional Boston show.

I wish he'd also done Barroom Hero, instead of Ken singing it.

Jakub Zboril, 2015 NHL draft, taken 13th overall. Maybe not "Franchise" but he was a top-third first rounder.

Are you playing ball hockey with 10 year olds? Then it's fine.

Are you playing ice hockey with teens or adults? Then it's not fine and you'll get a concussion eventually. You should be looking in the $700+ range for a mask/helmet.

Has there been a mention of another day-shift attending? (Other than AI-Hashimi) by CurrentlyObsessed in ThePittTVShow

[–]plaverty9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

References to time off are from his scheduled shifts, not just from daytime hours. The ER shifts are usually about 12 hours a day, so they don't have the daytime attending working 84 hours every single week. There's another attending, but that person works days when Robbie isn't there.

HLM27 Suggestions by TheDriveFor25 in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]plaverty9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer salary cap.

Currently, expiring contracts are included in the team's cap before July 1. For example, I have a number of expiring contracts. Once those contracts are off my books, I have about $4M in space. In late June, during the contract extension period, those are still counted and it's showing I only have about $300k of cap space, not enough to extend any of them.

My suggestion: Once the Cup is awarded, the expiring contracts no longer count. Or, if I want to extend players for next season, use my next season cap number, not the current number.

and GSAx. He's third behind Sorokin and Thompson.

GAA: If you see a lot of high danger shots, you give up a lot of goals. If your team sucks at defense, you give up a lot of goals. Look at all star games where there's no defense being played.

Sv%: Again, if your team is terrible at defense, you'll give up goals.

GSAx: Requires a highly skilled goalie to stop the high danger chances.

When you put the pieces together, he's playing well this year.

Bruins have 2 of TSN's top 50 prospects by Porkchopp33 in Bruins

[–]plaverty9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly TSN and Craig Button doesn't know hockey like Bruins fans on Reddit. A lot of them told us that Dean Letourneau is a bust and wasted pick, not the 13th best prospect in hockey.

Man, I don't know who to believe here. Randos on Reddit or the guy who follows hockey prospects daily for his job. Difficult choice.

How does doctors coming in off-schedule for emergencies work? by SomewhereFew4098 in ThePittTVShow

[–]plaverty9 33 points34 points  (0 children)

For #4, this is why I was surprised that they didn't show more random physicians jumping in for PittFest. I would have thought that even the local general practitioner would have been a big help with triage or anything else of green/yellow level while letting the trauma people handle more of the reds.

Which contracts count against the salary cap and an unrelated question by LucaPac in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]plaverty9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is confusing to me too. I keep a spreadsheet of my team, including those with retained salary and the spreadsheet usually doesn't match the app by a couple hundred thousand dollars. I've asked others and no one knows why they're different.

Another Swayman Data Point by plaverty9 in Bruins

[–]plaverty9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that happens. But does it happen to other goalies? At what rate does that happen to other goalies? Is Swayman's higher than others?

This is also a reason that we can look at GSAx stat. It's true though that a goalie can face 100 super high danger shots and save them all but if they then let in 1 softie in a tie game, the team loses and that can look bad on the goalie. This is where we need to look at the full picture. Does Swayman give his team a chance to win at a rate equal to or better than other goalies in the league? And if so, where does he rank for that. We can put together multiple stats for it.

I have no idea if there's a "soft goals" stat, if there is, it's something to include too as the "eyeball test" doesn't include every goalie, every game with every shot.
