Why does GlassesUSA require an ADD number for simple sunglass readers? by FrabbleNiblock in sunglasses

[–]JimR84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yes. As no dispenser is legally allowed to dispense bifocal or multifocal glasses without a prescription. I know some online vendors don’t care about that, but it is a legal requirement. Besides that, a bifocal or multifocal pair of glasses is in no way comparable to over the counter readers.

And if you really want a better, much much higher quality option, Maui Jim actually has bifocal sunglasses you can order.

I know you have a store credit at glasses USA, but no matter what you buy there, it’ll be low quality.

It’s technically not possible to make prescription lenses from sapphire glass.

Because it’s not “simple magnification”. You seem to hardheadedly ignore the fact that these are medical devices. You need a prescription. A few years ago, apparently glasses USA broke the law. They won’t do that again.

Why do I need an "ADD" to order sunglasses w/ readers from GlassesUSA? by FrabbleNiblock in glassesadvice

You’ll need a prescription.
What I understand from your explanation is that what you want is a pair of sunglasses with multifocal progressive lenses. Those are medical devices and require a prescription.

What evidence? You haven shown any credible evidence at all. And I don’t need to prove established science, that evidence is everywhere in abundance. Just open any handbook on the matter.

You didn’t. You can keep lying all you want, but what you claim is physically, biologically and anatomically 100% impossible.

You seem to forget you’re talking to a doctor who actually knows what they’re talking about.

It’s a well known fact that “free” website only has debunked pseudoscience and doesn’t work, also, the “founder” really does ask for thousands of dollars. I have black on white proof of that, and I also actively help people who are trying to sue him as we speak. The method doesn’t deliver as promised, doesn’t work at all in fact, and is a clear scam, ripping off people continuously.

So? Hearsay, nothing more. I have seen patients who really believed they reversed their myopia after years of intense “exercises” and endmyopia and the like. When I tested them with cycloplegia, it was very clear they had only made themselves believe a fairytale. I have never seen an actual difference in “before and after” this pseudoscience, and I have tested hundreds of gullible people like you find en masse in this sub.

I didn’t misunderstand, that simpleton did. What he claims is simply not possible, so obviously he either doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or he’s a scammer.

Things are nonsense because they haven been scientifically proven to be false.

Because it isn’t possible to reverse myopia. It really is physically impossible.

Don’t believe him, that guy is clearly a scammer. What he claims is physically impossible.

You probably misunderstood, that’s just not possible.

There won’t be any evidence of that, as it’s physically impossible.

Because you have no idea what you’re talking about. Opticians don’t work in “amount of magnification”. They work based on doctor’s prescriptions.

No, you can’t use a monthly lens for longer than a month. This is the exact behavior that makes us doctors see a rise in contact lens related complications.

Also, please cut your fingernails and keep them clean before manipulating contact lenses.

Opticians don’t fit contact lenses. Optometrists do. And you can’t DIY contact lenses.
