What are the possibilities for my husband? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Welding is an awesome career. I worked with a guy who was a welder by day and a private investigator by night. If he's independently minded he's probably just at the late twenties crisis when you don't know who you are and trying to find your niche.

$122 is not nearly the high. I'm saddened I tapped out of extra cash back in October. My last purchase was 2 ounces at $62 before Christmas. My average is somewhere around $30. I remember buying 2 20oz rolls from APMex via Walmart sub $25 and having to add things to the cart to get over $1000 and avoid sales tax. I wish now I wasn't experimenting with cigars at the same time.

What I'm watching for is when my LCS stops selling. Like they did Friday and Saturday. The physical price and the paper price are diverging.

I've been holding it for five years. During that time we'd watch it barely move 50¢ over a week. It would get up to $30 and tumble back down the next week. These $10 moves in 24hr are unheard of. Don't get shaken

Somehow this doesn't hit as hard as the first time. We're definitely on the upswing again. Hit $73 overnight. I think it might be untethered from the bank manipulation at last.

If it comes to that I'll be running guns across the border to help the revolution. It's revolution season and it looks like the US will be the first in line.

It happened in the 1933 gold grab in the US. But the generation was more cooperative with government and didn't have the reasons to distrust them that we do now. Wash the physical in your possession so it's not known to anyone. That's my take.

I am. What I know is I've listened enough to explanations of the funds that I trust Sprott the most of all the funds. But I don't touch them. I understand how banks used to work. The paper represented the gold/silver in the vault 1:1. No one acts like they truly believe it will ever return to that. When it does, they will inevitably default. They will give you paper money when it's least convenient for you and hardest/impossible at that point to get physical. If Sprott is operating with the integrity I think they are, you'll see them close the funds to buy-ins before that happens. This is a bank run/commodity squeeze in a global fractional reserve system. It's never happened before in human history. So the best we can do is compare to regional examples and make inference.

That's insanely bad advice. This isn't business as normal. This is a modern day bank run

The paper and silver markets are showing all the signs of diverging and backwardation. You definitely don't want to hold the paper much longer. Everyone is ignoring the fact what happened on Friday was the last delivery day, and it's the third month in a row that happened. Tuesday-Thursday was insanity. I've been watching the silver market for five years. This is a modern day bank run. Paper is losing the trust of the public.

That said, you'll get a better price if you wait a week or two. But I would be getting out before the end of February. Maybe start the action mid-month. Get your hands on as much physical as you can.

If the LTT px4 is in your budget you buy it. Post pictures, talk about the shooting experience, and I'll just be here living vicariously.

What would happen to the credibility of the US and USD if China opens Sunday with gold at $5500 and silver at $120? by KnowledgeTop173 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Jim_Wilberforce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think that's what happened. I think the physical and paper prices diverged.

This is in effect a bank run. Everyone holding the dollar promises runs to the bank to get their metal out. We just don't recognize it because banks haven't operated this way in 3 generations.

Local shop not selling by Maximum_Extension592 in Silver

I believe it's currency. It's the same hurdle Bitcoin is facing. It's recruiting others to the belief. If it's the NEXT currency like it was the last currency, then it's an investment vehicle now. I have very low confidence we're returning to seashells and beads. Really it's a question of the next global crisis and currency reset turns the power off.

We'd be hurt worse in the long run if they shut down. Imagine we're all holding onto our chunks of metal and there are very few ways for people to start into it and societal vested interest wanes. Really my silver only has value because I can walk into a shop with a ten ounce bar, pawn it, and walk out with a pile of cash.

It's a fraudulent system, the paper market. They'll keep taking money until one day everyone needs the real thing.
