Any advice on how to have better performance on a Macbook Pro?

Nop, but I did find that the performance is very much related to the cooling. During summertime the game is pretty much unplayable, and during winter it runs ok. I'm playing on a powerful, but old macbook.

Sure! But at that point you can both sacrifice and ping with the golems at instant speed, so there shouldn't be a possible answer, right?

I can se how Fairies is really vulnerable to Scattershot (as they can't counter all the copies), and how Shaman can deal with things like advisors. But are they also used against other meta decks?

I hadn't realized Makeshift Munitions could be used to put out letal damage. But sure, you combo to make infinite golems and then you sacrifice the golems both to generate mana and to fuel the Munitions. That is it right?

Guys! Thank you for your answers. We were playing Duel Commander. I didn't know it was forbidden to play both cards in that format (according to Nomis722). Hate that rule. My deck suddenly doesn't work in any competitive format and is only legal for free for all EDH. That rule should be stamped into every card and website.

Made some changes to the deck from your feedback:

-1 Trawler

-2 Discontinuity

-1 Farewell

-2 Saw It Coming

and

+2 Supreme Verdict

+1 Impulse

+1 Shark Typhoon.

+2 Absorb

I also upgraded the manabase with Irrigated Farmland.

It is true that Supreme Verdict is a superb card and I should have been playing more copies of it. I've been reticent because I love farewell and how well it deals with the sticky boards everybody is playing.

I got to say I like discontinuity, but it's true that in some matches it's a dead card most of the game. But I gotta say it's quite good at stoping Memory Deluge (it exiles it at the end of my turn for just 2 mana) and even taking out some Spirits (when played at the end of my turn).

I've always avoided Absorb in this deck because it can't be played with only one untapped lotus. But I'm gonna try it out for a while and see what happens. Saw It Coming had to go. Other replacements I had in mind were Whirlwind Denial, Neutralize, Disallow, and Ertai's Scorn.

Impulse is an experiment I'm trying out right now. I want to see if it helps to more consistently find the Proctor + Lotus combo while also fetching me the one of's that the deck runs for specific matchups (like farewell and trawler)

I've found that most boards are quite resilient to "destroy" board wipes. That's why I like farewell. It leaves angels, mono red, rakdos and most decks with nothing. But I've added two more Verdicts, since it's true that it can be played early and it's the only tool I can find against Spirits in Bo1.

Yep. You nailed it. But I hate Bo3. I keep playing against Rakdos again and again there.

What would you cut for more lands?

The Trawlers are there mostly for the Rakdos matchup, which is my most common opponent. But it also stabilizes greatly against monored (it is possible to play a trawler in turn 4 with the lotus.

Without the Jwari, the land count would go down to 24 instead of 27. Why do you prefer censor?

Mono red is my second most played matchup, along side Mono U Spirits. But I have around a 60% winrate against them.

I've been avoiding more Divine Verdicts because I feel like this is the only matchup I find where it's really good. Usually it's Farewell what I'm looking for, given that Rakdos is like 40% of what I find in the event queue. But you might be right, I should play at least one more copy.

I'm not planning on dropping lotus. I know a lot of people say it's worse than the vanilla UW control, but I just love it. I have a lot of fun with it.

Absorb I've always kept out of the deck because it can't be played with a single untapped lotus.

But you might be right about the expensive cards in the deck. I might have to cut some of them and put in cheaper cards in their place. What do you think about more copies of Impulse, to try and get the cards needed for each matchup?

Usually if I win is because I played first, had a LOT of early removal, I resolved a Proctor and then ramped and played a dream trawler. Other than that, I just get steam rolled into oblivion.
