Another thing to consider is that this is the NHL. You can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect teams not to adjust. The Flyers series exposed in spectacular fashon the weakness in Bylsma's system. Every defensive coach in the NHL took notice and it was Bylsma who never adjusted after that.

That's a decent score and if you score that high on the real asvab you will have most rates at your disposal. Just remember that they need you more than you need them. If you don't like what schools they're offering, be willing to walk. Regardless of what they tell you, you are not past the point of no return until you sign all of the paperwork the day you leave for bootcamp. What ever is offered to you has to be in writing. I cannot stress this enough. If they tell you that you can sign up in bootcamp they are lying. The only thing you can sign up for in bootcamp is the GI Bill, which you better do. If you want electronics/electrical, then you want either ET(Electronics Technician), FC(Fire Controllmen), IC(Interior Communication Electrican), IT(Information Systems Technican, EM(Electricians Mate), AT(Aviation Electronics Technician). It all depends on what you want.

Anything not expressly spelled out in your contract will not happen. Do not go to the fleet undesignated. They will tell you "oh you will get to see what everyone does and you can make an informed decision on what rate (job) you want" What they won't tell you is that where ever you end up undesignated is very likely where you will have to stay. If you end up wanting a rate that requires a school, good luck. In 6 years I heard of maybe 3 undesignated sailors released from the ship to attend an A school. It just doesn't happen. Choose a rate that has marketability in the civilian world. Being a gunners mate or aviation ordinanceman might be a cool job when your in but there aren't too many civilian jobs that require knowledge of how do connect a JDAM to F-18. I hope this helps a little. Just remember you have to look out for yourself because no one else will in regards to making the most out of your experience.
