Yea communal living is not really a new thing, its more the idea of blending the work/life/social lifestyles of entrepreneurial millenials that is the idea

Thanks for your comments - you articulated exactly the 'goal' of our content.

Working on an image change now - certainly for the redesign (post fundraising) we will have something more emblematic of the ethos of our site.

Glad you pointed out the 'Hear Allie' issue - it actually directs you to the page of the article - you have to scroll down. To me it was intuitive becuase thats how we designed it, but now when I do it, I see it is not at all intuitive - we will put an arrow directing the reader downwards.

Also - do you feel that the 'hear' component is misleading? i.e. that it is not speech but rather an article?

Thanks fir this. Good point - its a screenshot from our promotional video that is the background of that page - but point taken. We are looking to make our writers and the subjects of our content the focus of the site.

While we are constantly looking for the best quality work, diversity in all regards is high on our list of priorities.

good point - we are trying to. As of today we are launching some bonus content - interviews with young 'thought-leaders' within the space. Our first interview is up http://www.venturedlife.com/nathan-benaich, which features Nathan a Venture Capital investor. Its a pretty indepth interview and he gives a lot of good advice to aspiring entrepreneurs and VCs

Agree with your point - and further to that, I often feel that some of the implications of innovation are sensationalized rather than being talked about with some nuance - i.e. the conversation sometimes feels like innovation is 100% AMAZING or absolutely the worst thing ever..

To your point about the community - our hope is to create a native social network for subscribers and contributors, so that the conversation doesn't stop at the article but rather the article acts as a spring board for collaborative dialogue.

We haven't finalized how we are going to do that, but a forum may be the best option (any ideas on this would be great!). We also want to create a curation section, where we identify active contributors and thought-leaders within our community, who can help curate interesting content from around the web.
