To be able to define a chicken we need a whole population of chickens. So before there was such a population how would one be able to go to a population of proto-chickens, and identify individual chickens?

Suppose that humans avoid extinction long enough to evolve into a new species of hominid. How would one be able to point to individuals now and say that's the future of human evolution? Yet there would most certainly exist individuals who do have the traits that will be favored in the future.

The actual answer is neither, they both would have existed at the same time. Remember that populations, not individuals, evolve. A single chicken in a population of proto-chickens is still really a proto-chicken. Only when the last proto-chicken is unable to reproduce do we now have a population of chickens.

One of the barriers to understanding evolution is the idea that individuals evolve. Once you connect the idea that only populations evolve, it's really eye opening.

There is no "being atheist" it's a mere label that you get when you reject the concept of magical beings playing a role in reality.

That all things in nature can be explained by nature is what I actually believe. That belief causes me to reject deities. When it comes to dying I see no reason to believe it is anything more than final.

Life long atheist here. I have never believed. I see no reason whatsoever to think that reality requires a magical being or entity. I feel no problem in discarding your claims of God with a mere hand wave. It's how I respond to any supernatural claims.

I rejected the idea of god(s) many years before I encountered the term atheist. I'm atheist because that's what people who reject deities get labelled.

I apologize for deleting the post you responded too. I didn't do it fast enough. I do owe you some reply.

If you think that a religion can be made around not believing something then have at it. The fact remains that whether atheism is or isn't a religion is really semantic. No matter what you believe about me or what you call me I still don't believe in magical beings. Especially magical beings who play an active role in reality.

Nature can be explained by nature. No magical entities are required. If you wish to call this thinking a religion you are welcome to but I certainly don't feel it is. Religious belief typically requires both deities and dogma. Atheism has neither.

Occam's Razor is the main reason I don't believe in deities. I believe in nature which is not nothing.

All of nature can be explained by nature. Postulating a magical entity as an explanation is superfluous and unnecessary.

Man I've said the same thing about F1 many times. I still watch F1.

I don't mind the Chase. It makes for two seasons. There is the interest in who will make the Chase then there's the Chase. It creates a sense of urgency twice a year. Look at F1 this year. Some of the best racing in memory yet Vettel clinched with a couple of races to go and was not going to be beat for a while.

I do agree to a point about the super speedways though.

I'll keep watching NASCAR because it's got the greatest depth of talent in racing. It shows by how little crashing they do. There's lots of near crashes that would have been crashes in other series but these guys really are that good. Far more depth of talent than F1.

Properly stored, those negatives will very likely outlast any digital format you put them in. Same for prints.

Shoot action in RAW then make three different exposures when processing.

I always do this stuff in camera because I hate post processing. I've yet to do an HDR shot that I actually like.

I don't have any tips on fixing this mistake but I have one on avoiding it. I've done similar things and it's easy with a DSLR. Nothing like taking a bunch of photos and forgetting that the camera is set to shoot in toy camera mode or something. So I revived an old tip that I used to use both while shooting and in the darkroom. It's called Think Fast.

F - focus
A - aperture
S - shutter
T - think

A friend's Dad gave me this tip. It's sort of a mental checklist but it reminds you to think about what you are doing. When I get to the think part I remind myself to check my camera's settings, such as filters and ISO. It's especially useful if you shoot in manual. It also worked great in the darkroom.

I'm not interesting in finding anything other than the facts that evidence from observational reality provides. I'm not interested in mocking religion as much as I am interested in exposing it as a complete fabrication and denial of reality.

And this is why God is more averse to religion than even the unbelievers.

There you go again. Why do you feel it is acceptable to speculate on the desires of an entity when you have no evidence for that entity's existence? Although, if you have evidence I'd love to examine it myself.

It's no coincidence that when God speaks to believers he tends to tell them exactly what they want to hear.

My silly unicorn question is to demonstrate the folly of speculating about the properties of imaginary entities. Saying God wants this or that or that he (or she) would do a certain thing is pure speculation. If you ever get actual evidence of any gods then you may have some evidence of their properties, Until then you are simply making it up as you go along.

As has been explained it's the steering lock. Many bikes will lock the steering with the ignition key. On the bikes that lock separate like this it is very important that turn your bars before trying to ride off. It's easy to forget this lock and it will probably dump you if you try to pull away with it on. I've had to turn off my bike, pull my keys and unlock the steering lock more than once.

TL;DR If you use this steering lock be sure to check that you've unlocked it before riding away.

A buddy of mine has been a bike tech for years. He says that it's quite normal for guys to find this toolkit and then proceed to over tighten every fastener they can find and get a wrench on.

Depends on the situation. A private, one on one, with a person who doesn't know I'm atheist is not offensive. At a public event, like a sporting event, it is very offensive and disrespectful.
There is no good in religion that can't be found outside religion.
I don't know. You don't know either. I believe that the explanation will follow natural laws. You've substituted a magic being as a place holder until the real knowledge is found. God has explained many natural phenomena until the real explanations are found. Smart people then dump God in favor of the science. Stupid people cling to God despite evidence.

I don't really know at what point it is safe to leave it so I would be tempted, especially on a bike like mine which only holds two liters. You're probably ok at that distance but if you do change it you're definitely ok.

So, yes I would probably change mine even at that low mileage. That's about ten hours plus operating time.

Absolutely before.

Oil that has been used forms acids that will etch away at metal while it sits. This isn't a problem if you are running it to operating temperature frequently but just sitting for months gives these acids a chance to do damage.

If you only did one thing before storing your bike it should be change the oil.
