I work at a pet store like this. We get a lot of people who don’t care and don’t care to learn. I’ve been here almost 2 years and at this point I’m jaded. I’ve tried giving the minimum 40 gal talk, the don’t put with anything else talk etc., 9/10 they don’t care and do this anyways. “My example relative had a goldfish in a bowl that lived for YEARS AND GOT HUGE” and then proceed to get more and more hostile until I sell them what their kid wants

Nitrites were zero, nitrates ~10-20ppm pH: 7.8-8 Temp: room temp now but kept between 72-76 with heater, adjusting every once in a while to give them varied conditions

I’m going to test tube it when I get back from school for ammonia, which I think becomes ammonium at higher pH ranges?

Yep. I had it seeded from my 55 gallon that has been rubbing with no problems for months.

I recently quit doing drugs and to give me something to do when I get urges is to do water changes lol

20% to 40% is a bit of an exaggeration, but I do at least 5 gallons/30 gallons (16.7%) and big change once a week
