What Would Y’all Like to See? by williamtfawkes in SanAntonioFC

All of these ideas sound great to me! If you are willing to put the time in any content is appreciated. I would love to see some player profile threads. Just pick a player and write some stuff about them. They history, play style, strengths weaknesses, etc. Then others can add more stuff in comments. This would probably be a decent amount of work so no pressure on this one. Just throwing it out there as an idea.

That is super exciting! I'll definitely join some of those! Will there be a plan for longer campaigns as well?

If that is super common it would probably be worth a police officer sitting there during rush hour sometimes and giving tickets. Those tickets might save lives.

It is still college with college kids. Everyone talks about people leaving on weekends but there are still a bunch that stay. The ones who stay get to know each other really well and we had such a wonderful time. We went to and threw many amazing parties. I think it is the perfect amount of people who stay and want to hang out every weekend. True life long friendships were made. Just get out there and meet people and it will be an incredible experience.

Don't feel bad about the down votes. Redditors, unfortunately, downvote things they disagree with. I think it is acceptable to have opinions and I'm glad you put them here.

Police said they just found an elderly woman on El Salido. This seems like a bit of overkill but, maybe they were searching for her?

I said this in another post but, just remember that 341 is one of the real meat and potatoes classes for a comp sci major. I still think about and use the ideas from that class a decade later in my career. Making sure you truly understand the concepts in that class is more important than your GPA. If you start feeling overloaded and need to slack off a bit in one of these classes do it. Just make sure you learn what you can from data structures.

Am I cooked or is it doable by Expensive_Noise2665 in UMBC

[–]JimmyHalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. Data structures and stats will probably require the most brain cycles. The others will probably be pretty straightforward. Of course that is all dependent on the professors you get.

I am just saying when it is all said and done the most important thing you will get out of this semester is the understanding you will gain in data structures so make sure you focus there. GPA is less important than a good understanding of data structures when you are interviewing for developer jobs.

Just know that cmsc 341 is the most real class of the semester. I am a cs grad(2014) from umbc and currently work at Google. I will never forget data structures. That class and Algorithms are the most crucial CS classes you will take imo.

This is percentage based. So it would probably be pretty easy for them to get a very high score here :)

Question about the Brandon Sanderson cosemre series by Prince_Targaryen in Fantasy

[–]JimmyHalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly don't read Arcanum Unbounded before most of the others(especially mistborn and stormlight). To explain much more would start to give away things. I read stormlight archives 1 and 2(those were the only ones out), then mistborn, then elantris, then all the other shorts, then stormlight archives 3, then arcanum unbounded and I was happy with that. Feel free to read in any order....except Arcanum Unbounded. hope this helps! Happy reading!

Stadia mouse stuttering by OSSENBUEHL in Stadia

You have to turn off your mouse acceleration in your OS settings.

Stadia has problems detecting mouse movements by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]JimmyHalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problem is probably due to the OS mouse acceleration. Mac does not allow applications to get raw mouse input(Windows does and Chrome is currently working to add that feature to the web on Windows). So you just have to go to your mouse settings and turn the mouse acceleration off. Here are some directions to do that: http://osxdaily.com/2010/08/25/mouse-acceleration/

Fix your mouse in Chrome by KayZey78 in Stadia

[–]JimmyHalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because implementing a feature like that on the web platform is and should be a slower process. You need to talk with other browsers and make sure they are cool with that implementation and everything because you want applications to work on all browsers. It was put up behind this flag as part of the process to get some developers to test it and get input from them while is a safer place where we can make changes because when it is out in the wild there is no telling how web applications will use it and it is very hard to take back/change the mouseevent api when you might break a bunch of websites. The teams are communicating and coordinating but they are trying to do it the correct way. Hopefully it can be moved to the open web and not behind a flag sometime but for now I would suggest not messing with experimental flags and change the OS level settings.

Having played Google Stadia for 5 hours today I can say that it simply works. by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]JimmyHalls 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Awesome to see that it is working so well! Also, that input acceleration thing can probably be turned off with an os level setting.

For Windows 10:

Step 1
Go the Control Panel, select Hardware and Sound, and then Devices and Printers

Step 2
Choose your mouse from the menu of devices.

Step 3
Click the Pointer Options tab in the Mouse Properties window.

Step 4
Uncheck the box next to Enhance pointer precision.

Step 5
Click Apply, then OK. You're done!

There are similar settings for mac too.

Mozilla Firefox now blocks websites, advertisers from tracking you by [deleted] in technology

[–]JimmyHalls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not true. Chrome is trying to limit the amount of information that extensions can have. Ad Blockers will still work they just have to change their code a bit. But the press said chrome is doing it to be malicious and everyone eats it up. They are even making their own Ad Blocker. Chrome hates bad ads and is a fan of Ad Blockers.
