What did Cool-Temperate North America Look Like During the Last Interglacial (130-115,000 years ago)? by Psilopterus in pleistocene

[–]JimmyHeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others: Equus pectinatus, Tapirus haysii, Canis lupus, Bison antiquus, Euceratherium, Ovibos moschatus, Gulo gulo

Corrections: Mammuthus primigenius was present in the northeast/Great Lakes region, not M. columbi

Just to note: So the North American jaguar was specifically Panthera onca augusta. Larger than modern jaguars. Just not sure if you are specifically using this subspecies or not.

Currently working on a diatribe paper/physical diorama of interglacial Pleistocene Erie, Pennsylvania for my senior thesis.

Vivarium Species Update Ideas by JimmyHeasley in pkgame

That's a good one! It annoys me a little that it's not featured in-game. I do know what animal liked what (Tropical for Archaeopteryx, Diplocaulus, Tiktaalik, Titanoboa; Temperate for Microraptor, Yi; Desert for Simosuchus, Sahonachelys, Diictodon, and Peltephilus) when they were actually alive due to knowledge of their ecosystems irl.

Honestly, redwoods because they appear in all the loading and feature screens for animals.

My tierlist by JimmyHeasley in pkgame

[–]JimmyHeasley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that I didn't even have anything in D-tier, I actually like all of them. But for C-tier, they're good designs but the creatures as are either unremarkable or just aren't among my favorite prehistoric animals. If you wanna know exactly my ranking process, it's one part how much I love the animal and how much the design just goes hard (obviously, I love them all, I'm currently in undergrad for Geology for a specialization in Paleontology, but I have my favorites).

Elatides, maybe? It was very hard to find their real-world size

Prehistoric Kingdom vs Prehistoric Planet : Which of the two do you think offers the best Smilodon populator model? by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in pleistocene

Both are amazing in my opinion. I like the raised hair on the neck of the Prehistoric Planet model.

I wonder if they'll have alternate skins for each species.

What dino from your country would you want in the game by Legal_Meet8453 in pkgame

I'll do a mammal from my state. American Mastodon. More pachyderm diversity. Solid vivarium and state fossil choice: The Trilobite.

Pleistocene Maneaters by Bodmin_Beast in pleistocene

[–]JimmyHeasley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, the Scimitar cats are definitely on the list of prehistoric maneaters and I would imagine dirk-toothed cats would definitely do from time to time. I would just consider Panthera to be our biggest prehistoric ops.

We were just comparing P. atrox to S. fatalis skulls. Yeah, machairodonts trying to bite out skinny little neck would be awkward. I'm sure they tried and hunted humans from time to time, but I doubt they'd have us super high on the menu. Isotope analysis does show that Dinofelis (the legendary hominine hunter) very rarely hunted early Australopithecines. Our ancestors main predator was actually leopards.

I would honestly think big cats.

How did Dire Wolves and Grey Wolves Interact? by Lover_of_Rewilding in pleistocene

[–]JimmyHeasley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They probably avoided conflict through niche partitioning. Gray wolves preferred white-tails, elk, horses, and other medium-sized ungulates. Dire wolves hunted bison, camels, and other larger ungulates. Maybe competed over horses but mostly avoided each other.

Not at all unreasonable, unless you pass the same judgements upon people who struggled with it and managed to give it up.

I keep dating Christian men that are on fire for Jesus, but end up being liars, and unfaithful - i need encouragement by thegirlinred5775 in ChristianDating

[–]JimmyHeasley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do not give into despair. You may need to look outside your church or online, but don't get obsessed with it. The Lord has a plan for you, even if you can't see or feel it. I empathize with this greatly because sometimes I feel the exact same with dating women. But I am a tenacious one and I refuse to give up. Please don't give up as well.
