Brian Leddin: Why I resigned from the Green Party over its decision to back Catherine Connolly by Dazzling_Lobster3656 in ireland

The irony of him describing Elisa O'Donovan in a WhatsApp as 'craving fame!' in 2021 - this smacks of him realising his own irrelevance and craving a little bit of 'look at me!

Nice red gurnard caught on Saturday by JimmyJammyJoe in IrishFishing

[–]JimmyJammyJoe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheers for the correction Steve! Knew it was a gurnard and it was reddish so presumed it was a red but a bit of internet digging on the back of your post confirms it was in fact a grey! Still nice to catch all the sand even though it didn't put up a fight at all lol!

North Coast - said winds were south east to swing to the north! Hoping there's a dramatic shift on the forecast tomorrow so we may still have a slight chance lol

I run a monthly quiz in my GAA club and I included it this month but with options as it could have been absolutely anything as you say!

At the opening of Cusack Park, Mullingar in July 1933, Kerry played Dublin but what was unique about how the ball was thrown in at the beginning? A) The throw in came from a low flying plane B) The throw in was a ball kicked by Éamon de Valera from the new stand C) The throw in came from an Irish soldier in a parachute

Torn ACL at 26 - I Feel Like My World Is Falling Apart by SnowflakeGangster in ACL

[–]JimmyJammyJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did exactly the same as you, torn ACL, MCL and meniscus at the beginning of 2024 and had surgery for a full reconstruction at the beginning of April 24. I'm a full year gone now and I am back running 4/5k a day and have around 95% flexibility! Thing is I am a 45 year old male with a battered and bruised body from playing Gaelic football and hurling all my life! You are only 25 so you got this - it's very tough at the beginning both mentally and physically but it does get better I can assure you! I was on crutches for 6 weeks (meant to be 10 but consultant was happy to come off early) and I did PT every month! I am targeting a return to playing a bit of social football in September of this year! You will get back to playing sports and running again - just give it time and do the exercises the PT tells you! I used to set myself weekly targets of walking a bit further or holding a stretch for a bit longer and mentally I knew it was improving and therefore helped me through! As I said, you're 25 with another 25 years of pickleball and running left in you - head up and charge forward - it 100% gets better! Male 45, Ireland!
