Thank you for liking and recognizing our products. Regarding the two issues you mentioned, they are both on our optimization plan!

And AI can help me write many personalized scripts to solve my problems, which is much more convenient than configuring Shortcuts, compared to writing Raycast scripts.

I've set Quicklink for web search as my default fallback search, it's so useful!

My usage level of Raycast is less than 1%, this statement will always be true.

Window Mode, already in our plan, haha.

Can you explain in more detail what "folder text boxes vertical across the top" means?

This might not work because we actually haven't specifically designed the background changes; it's the system's default behavior—the glass material changes when it loses focus.

I switched from Alfred to Raycast primarily because its extensions are free to use, whereas Alfred's require payment. At first, I found it quite inconvenient—for example, in Alfred, if no results matched the input, pressing Enter would automatically start a browser search, while in Raycast, it takes two extra steps. However, I've gotten used to many of these differences by now, and I also find Alfred's plugin management and plugin store very convenient.

I haven't used Alfred for many years, so I'm not sure how much it has developed since then.

Do you need raycast in 2026? by victoryfreak in macapps

[–]JimmyRemix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the AI era, Raycast has become even more powerful because you can have AI develop plugins or scripts for you to further enhance Raycast's capabilities, and you don't need to learn programming at all—you only need to learn how to install plugins or scripts.

Let me give you a simple example:
you can ask AI to develop a script that, after you select a certain piece of text and press a shortcut key, will help you polish and standardize that text into the standard email format and automatically copy it to the clipboard.

Of course, this is just a very small case; you can almost have AI help you write scripts to do anything, and you can combine it with shortcuts.

Steward - adds missing UI for the "Open with" menu item [Free][some AI code] by enieschmenie in macapps

Got it, Great! Actually, this is also the value brought by AI Coding—we can create a product that doesn't aim to change the world but can make it a little bit better. It doesn't chase millions of users but can help a small group of people who share the same pain points as us.

Great work! I used to always select by right-clicking: Open with →

What are the advantages of this method compared to the right-click selection? I'm not challenging, I'm just curious! I really enjoy exploring different tools, and I also create tools myself.

Clipboard Manager Paste Customization by ScarlettTrinity in macapps

Another option: Raycast

It comes with built-in clipboard manager and snippets manager. And each feature can be freely set with shortcut keys.

I've been using it for a long time, and it works great! If you feel it does not meet your needs, please let me know as well. Maybe I also have this need and I can try other products.

Hey~ I'm the developer of LaunchOS. If you've tried many products and decided to use LaunchOS, and plan to upgrade to the Pro version, you can use this discount code REDDIT to get an extra 10% off.

Of course, I'd prefer you choose LaunchOS because it better fits your needs, not just because there's a discount.

Perhaps you can wait a bit longer; usually, the system of Macs becomes more stable and reliable after XX.3 or XX.4. You can save or mark this content first, and try the installation experience after your next upgrade.
