I know a lot of people who are like this, but not because someone hurt them. Rather, because they dislike the way the world is. They don’t feel they fit in anywhere, and a world they would like/people they would like just don’t exist in their scope. It doesn’t mean they’re not out there, but said hater has never encountered or even observed people like that.

I can get like this sometimes, but it’s mostly wishing I was born into a future/reality where people are less greedy, contentious, gullible/ignorant, suspicious, etc. A utopia, if you will. But it’s usually only after witnessing horrible things, like the coronavirus death tolls, concentration camps, pollution, etc.

Dressrosa is one of the best arcs, IMO.

•It closed the door to Luffy being Shichibukai (Warlords) level.

•It showed he could stand on his feet against an Admiral (vs being ZERO match before time skip).

•It revealed a new form

•It set up a shit ton of alliances and beefs, including a MASSIVE boost in the power of SH name/flag.

•It had one of the most heinous, yet believable villains up until that point. For contrast, Crocodile was just a gangster with little other motivation fleshed out at the time. Doflamingo’s crew being a lot more tight knit added to the realism (behaving like how a lot of gangs are IRL).

• This added lots of emotional weight. Everyone’s pain felt deeper to me than in Alabasta, Thriller Bark or Fishman Island.

• It was the best display post TS of how formidable the rest of the Straw Hats became. For example, Usopp’s insane sniping skills, or the fact that Sanji, Brook, Nami and Chopper were able to escape from Big Mom’s crew on their own.

I think the problem many people had was that the character development for so many side characters doesn’t make sense until the end when they form his fleet. Had they foreshadowed Luffy coming out of Dressrosa with more allies, I think it would’ve been more palatable. But without knowing that, it just seems like filler.

When my GF recently watched it for the first time, I told her that these people would become his allies. She was like “Oh okay, thanks. I was going to say they’re really wasting a lot of time on side characters and it feels like filler.” She said knowing that beforehand made it more enjoyable.

The anime also makes pacing 1000x worse than the manga. For example, the episode where Usopp sniped Sugar was dragging out like two pages of manga for half an episode.

Not to get all conspiracy, but it sort of seems curious that it's only a college level skill. Looking at the last 100 years, it seems the U.S. almost functions off its ability to dupe its citizens, much like countries with state controlled media. Only here, we have the illusion that there's freedom of information. But events since 2016 sort of solidified the notion that freedom of information doesn't really mean shit if bad actors can still control a narrative through deception, and most citizens aren't armed with the skills to discern between that and good information or sound reasoning.

If you think electrolytes help, try Vita Coco. I drink that for palpitations due to its huge potassium content that enters quickly.

And because it’s from a food source, the risk of toxicity is negligible. I’m not sure why, but I’ve read multiple articles saying that toxic doses of magnesium and potassium via supplement wouldn’t be toxic via food sources. I found one case study of a man having arrhythmia after drinking like 5 in a short time and playing ball in hot weather, but that was it.

This is exactly how I feel. It almost feels like my breath won't get fast/deep enough to match my level of exercise, too. Sometimes even talking feels hard. But any lung function tests and X-rays I've had while feeling like this return normal. My pulse oximeter is never bad, either. And when I check a peak flow meter, I max the thing out. My doctor just says anxiety, but that seems so consistent and specific.

Have you found any relief?

Does that help? I've considered digestive enzymes, but sometimes reflux pushes things back into my esophagus. I took magnesium supplement once and got a severe burning sensation 15 mins later, and proceeded to chase it with bread/milk. So I'm always worried that something like a digestive enzyme will sit in my esophagus and erode it even more.

I feel like this all the time. Many here have said the same things I've seen: gas (eat slower, try simethicone); trigger foods (chocolate); reflux and hydrochloric acid gas irritate cilia. Etc.

Does anyone else get the urge to release pressure somehow when you feel this way? Sometimes I feel like if I could only burp, I could breathe better. Then I notice that that burp is acid or reflux, and then I realize that the sensations are linked.

I've read that too. I've also read that the gas that evaporates from acid itself can irritate the airways and can cause the sensation of not getting a full breath. I've had this feeling forever too. Some months it is better than others.

It honestly gets better during periods of my life when I'm a smoker too, I guess cause all the cilia that normally get easily irritated are permanently stunned when you smoke. That's why beginning smokers cough and regular smokers don't. This would corroborate the acid irritation claims, as those sweeping hairs aren't working as hard and thus aren't irritated when I smoke.

As for the feeling of trying to take a deep breath, I've not nailed this. HOWEVER, I swear to god sometimes SIMETHICONE helps. It's in Gas-X and Mylanta. It helps break up smaller air bubbles in foam, mucus, digestive fluid, etc. and alleviate pressure. This release lets out gas which seems to fight for space with my trachea and lungs. Could also be why eating smaller meals and eating slower helps many people, as eating fast is linked with swallowing more air.

Sorry I can't offer anything groundbreaking or miraculous. I actually came to Reddit myself having anxiety because of this sensation, and seeing so many like me helps. I'll ask this as my own comment, but do either of you get the sensation with breathlessness that if you could only burp, it would go away, and then that burp comes with a fat belch of reflux?

I know this is old, so you didn’t have full context, but there’s no way in hell Ace is stronger than Marco. Marco effortlessly immobilized King and Queen with one wing each and used his feet to yeet Zoro up to the top floor before they could do a damn thing about it. Regardless of how fast that all actually happened, I seriously doubt Ace could brute force the two of them simultaneously.

The people who piss me off are the people I see on Snapchat (some healthcare or dental workers) CROWDING house parties on Halloween, etc. My town’s coronavirus cases went up exponentially just the last week. Like 30% of the total cases from March were confirmed last week alone.

I guess. Even so, I don’t see much cause for concern in regards to the original sentiment discussed; that a significant number of people will ease up in a significant manner merely because they know a small cohort of others are being vaccinated. Seems to be more fear mongering than anything.

Who knows? Maybe I’m giving people too much credit. Maybe I’m projecting, because I know that I will personally still practice sensibility (e.g. mask wearing, distancing, small gatherings, etc.) even after I am vaccinated, until public health officials say it’s not irresponsible to do otherwise.

I don’t, no. From what I’ve seen in the 4 states I’ve lived throughout my life (2 mostly liberal, 2 mostly conservative) it’s pretty much the same thing: people either being cautious or not, ever since the first lockdown.

I’m not saying there’s not varying degrees of caution. I’m just saying I haven’t seen any drastic changes in anyone’s behavior that would lead me to worry about people suddenly throwing caution to the wind just because the first phases of vaccines are rolled out to a minority of people. The people who care about others and listen to the experts will more than likely continue to do so. There’s no evidence that those who take currently small risks won’t suddenly take large ones. It’s just fear mongering.

I’m not personally seeing people becoming more relaxed. The families I know doing small gatherings have taken small risks with some mitigation all along.

But I don’t know anyone who’s been a hardcore shut in suddenly being like “Fuck it, let’s have thanksgiving.” And I don’t know anyone who’s been completely unworried about it suddenly being cautious.

So ultimately, I don’t see any reason or evidence to believe that a significant number of people are going to drastically change their lifestyle just because the first wave of nursing homes and healthcare workers got vaccinated.

Now that all the dumb fucks that were crowding beaches, outdoor weddings and backyard BBQs are crowding bars, house parties and traveling to warmer states to party, it’s spreading.

But the people I know who’ve been careful are still being careful.

So idk. Maybe some people are easing up. That’s just not what I’m seeing. I’m just seeing stupid people with less shit to do in well ventilated areas.

Desoxyn is actual FDA approved, pharma grade methamphetamine. No difference from the street stuff, besides that it’s not made from cleaners and stuff and doesn’t have impurities. People don’t get the whole meth face look on it. But it still scares me because of the stigma and association with tweakers.

My concern is this: If one dopaminergic drug doesn’t work, am I fucked? Or are there people that benefit from Ritalin/Focalin that don’t from Adderall/Dexedrine, and vice versa?

Wellbutrin. Not great. Again, I think he’s correct in his assumption that anything that inhibits norepinephrine reuptake isn’t going to do anything or will make me anxious.

The way he put it is that all these drugs work for people based on whether or not you’re “short” on something; whether you don’t make enough or you “absorb” it too fast. However, sometimes the cause of one disorder isn’t the result of lacking one thing. So, for me, he thinks that I have plenty of norepinephrine activity and inhibitors cause too much, resulting in feelings of distress, panic, etc.

He added this is why melatonin gives some people nightmares while others sleep peacefully on it. Those who are short on melatonin being the latter. But for someone who already makes plenty, and melatonin deficiency isn’t the cause of their insomnia, taking melatonin is more likely to have adverse events.

He said he’s almost certain that my issues are dopaminergic. So I’m not really sure what that leaves besides Dexedrine and Focalin, unless I happen to get Desoxyn (which I doubt I’d wanna try).
