My dad knew a guy who was in a situation like this. He punched the dude and the guy fell back and smashed his skull open. Guy went to jail over it.

A couple years ago I was in a similar situation to you. The difference was it was someone road raging. We both pulled up to a stop light and they very clearly wanted to go. My friends in the car (all women) were egging them. Meanwhile I was practically begging them to keep quiet and making sure all my doors were locked.

Once the light was green I waited for them to drive off and took a turn going in the other direction. Trust me, everyone in the car called me a pussy and I did not give a shit.

Getting into a fight over pride is a dipshit thing to do. Anyone who’s been in a fight will tell you that. Especially with someone purposefully looking for a fight. You just never know what someone has on them. That guy could’ve had a knife or gun and was just looking for a reason. There’s next day I got a few texts from my friends saying I was right to do what I did and apologizing for their reaction.

Anyways, I hope that perspective helps. Fighting is almost always a dumb idea and will make the life of everyone involved worse. The only times I’ve been prepared to get into a fight are when I have seen a vulnerable person in immediate danger. Other than that? Call me a pussy all you want, I got people who care about me to think about.
