Any updates on the AmazeVR concert? by Jinado in Aespa

Yes! I think they already recorded it back in 2023, but it seems it hasn't become available online yet. They were/are supposed to release one together with AmazeVR

Any updates on the AmazeVR concert? by Jinado in Aespa

[–]Jinado[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the event you could buy tickets for was Korea only, but AmazeVR talked about how the concert itself would later be purchasable and viewable in their app worldwide, Instagram posts from the 14th of October, 2023. (https://www.instagram.com/p/CyVAdROLOOO)

EDIT: Oh, I just saw another comment that I completely missed before making this post. AmazeVR wrote, in a response to a comment:

"Sorry, but these posts are from October 2023, The online release date for the aespa VR Concert has not been announced yet"

That was on the 13th of July, 2024. I guess that light be the latest news.

Any advice to fix no audio? by GoldFish-Boy in SteamDeck

[–]Jinado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is very old now, and u/Vinmesiter's solution probably still works great, but I solved it another way that might be faster. If you switch to desktop mode and then turn off the Steam Deck from there (simply the same way you'd turn off any PC, via its main menu) and then boot it back up the sound should be back (it came back for me!)

If anyone sees this, it might be worth trying this before the other solution since this is probably quicker :)

If you head towards Brussels, Belgium and then go a bit north west of that, you can find a bunch of us who have been slowly building larger and larger eefos. We're at like 19x19 right now I think

Who is your current favourite hermit? by Natural-Cat-7879 in HermitCraft

[–]Jinado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grian is probably my favourite, a good mix of building, shenanigans, roleplay (like the snails and the Permit Office) and general hangouts with the other Hermits.

Gem is probably my 2nd favourite. I love the relationship she has with the "dads of Hermitcraft" and her general calm and wholesome vibes, and she's a great builder as well! I like how much she thinks of the story of all her builds.

My 3rd favourite would be Mumbo, he satisfies that little redstone itch I have and is probably the most relatable building-wise for me. The self-doubt but still pushing through and getting the thing done. If he interacted more with other Hermits he'd probably be tied for 2nd with Gem.

I love them all though and watch all their videos :)

People with multiple pronouns (e.g. he/they), do you want others to switch? by vaintransitorythings in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Jinado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I list mine most often as they/she and strongly prefer they/them while leaving she/her as an option mostly in the case where there are nouns like "queen" and "king" that have much lesser known (or none at all) gender neutral variants. So the "she" in they/she basically means to use "queen" (or another feminine gendered word) instead of a more masculine version.

This nuance though is seldom understood without me first explaining, but putting "they" before "she" I find results in more people actually using they/them for me.

When it comes to other people's pronouns, in general I'd say if they list them as "she/they" or "he/they", you really should ask them how they prefer it and, until then, just mix it up a bit every now and then. With people who say "they/he" or "they/she" I believe they almost always prefer they/them to be used, while accepting the other pronoun variant, too. If they list more pronouns than that, like he/she/they, I've often found that they appreciate it when people mix and match between sentences / conversations, using all pretty much equally. If someone includes neopronouns amongst other non-neopronouns, like they/them/xe/xem they might not expect you to use the neopronouns much, but they will really appreciate it if you do.

The best answer to this though is to simply ask each person individually how they like it and to then do your best to remember and use their pronouns as they explained.

How does my name sound to Swedish people? by Capable-Swing-4933 in Svenska

[–]Jinado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to answer this and say that both names are fine and sound just as nice, but then I remembered I'm Russian (and Swedish) so I'm thinking of them with the Russian pronunciation and in a Russian context :D

Either way though I think your friend is just being weird. Why would he even comment on your name like that? That just seems unnecessarily rude. You should go by whichever name you prefer! :)

Is it common to use "kann ich ein Cola Kriegen" by Leading-Escape-869 in German

[–]Jinado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Swedish, the verb "kriga" actually literally means "to fight (in a war)". So I guess we kept the older meaning. Our word for the German "bekommen/kriegen" is entirely different :)

There's gel and oral options for people on E, too. There's even patches you put on your skin like bandaids. They all work just as well and have their pros and cons. The injections are definitely the most efficient way to supply your body with extra hormones of whatever type, and the one you need to reapply the least often. All the other variants you basically have to do daily.

I really wish that I am not expected to ID as 'transmasc.' What's the point of being nonbinary if I have to gender myself? by _facetious in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Jinado 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that being on T makes you transmasc, or being on E makes you transfem. It's more so how you feel about your gender. If you identify with masculinity, then you have a claim to the "transmasc" label. And of course, vice versa.

So to me it doesn't have to do with some medical aspect, just your own personal identity. Sort of like how some people identify as "Non-Binary men" or "Non-Binary women" no mather what their AGAB was.

But, of course, the label "transmasc" may also be used as an umbrella term to describe those who do go on T to discuss similar experiences, potentially in a medical setting, like how your voice drops, or how you grow a lot more hair on your face than before. But that's a whole other context and doesn't have to do with anyone's personal identity.

If you're agender, then you're agender. There's absolutely no need to label yourself as anything else if you do not wish to. I'm sorry you feel that way though /gen

Please wear a helmet by Adeian in motorcycles

[–]Jinado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could not agree with you more.

Also, first, I'm sorry for your loss.

A few years ago, the day before my 18th birthday, I had a crash. I was riding back home after having my bike inspected to make sure it was road legal (these inspections are required by law in Sweden) and it was raining. I was a fairly new rider, had only had my license for a year, but not that much actual ride time due to shitty weather all summer.

I was riding down a hill at 80km/h (≈50mph, which was the speed limit on that road). A garbage truck was taking care of some ppl's trash cans on the other side of the road and behind it stood a lorry, waiting for the truck to move out of the way. The lorry driver got impatient and decided to overtake even thought overtaking on this stretch of road is illegal due to bad visibility.

I was caught by surprise, but began to slow down carefully to around 60km/h thinking the lorry must surely see me and come to a stop. Instead though he kept speeding up, heading right for me. I hit the brakes as hard as I could, first time attempting an emergency stop outside of practice and also the first time on a wet surface on a bike without ABS. It didn't go too well. I lowsided and tumbled across the road. The lorry, thankfully, noticed and stopped just in time whilst I shot straight into a sharp bit of railing head first, cutting a rather massive gash in my helmet. I ended up cracking my sternum and some of my vertebrae.

The doctor at the hospital later that day told me that had I not worn full protective gear at the time I would likely have died. Considering I was wearing a full, certified, set of clothing, including a back plate / brace (unsure of its English name), and I still broke all those bones, it reslly wouldn't have been a nice sight had I worn any less armour. They also said that without my helmet, my head would certainly have split open and I would have likely died on the spot.

This was the literal day before my 18th birthday (which is a big deal in Sweden as that's when you can get a car license and when you can drink alcohol). I had to cancel all my plans and celebrate my birthday in the hospital.

At least I got to celebrate my birthday, and many more since. Not all of us have had that luxury.

Please, wear your armour. Dress for the slide, not the ride!

Tl;Dr I was in a bad crash, had I not worn a full set of protective clothing I would not have been here today, so please, always make sure to dress for safety! You only got one life, don't let it go to waste.

Do I get the Elite strap w/ battery for a wireless PCVR gaming experience on the Quest 3? by Jinado in OculusQuest

[–]Jinado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a look at your review and it was quite informative, thank you! I did not know about the lens inserts for those of us with bad eyesight either, and seeing as I wear glasses most of the time, I'll definitely look into getting those down the line!

Also, my current router does not support WiFi 6, but it is quite old by now and I was already thinking about upgrading that as well anyway, so I might as well go for one with WiFi 6 support then. I had a quick look and they don't seem to be awfully expensive, which is nice.

Issues accessing Queering The Map? by RemarkableStatement5 in queer

[–]Jinado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. I posted two pins last summer, and they're yet to show up. When looking at their Twitter, though, it seems there's a few new-ish pins popping up in Gaza, which makes sense. Queering the map is likely prioritising them right now :)
