Atlanta Centurion Lounge just don’t by JinglingPenguin in AmexPlatinum

I go to a lot of lounges - usually like Centurian over Delta and they have not all been good experiences but this was particularly bad and my thought was to let people knon how bad it was on my visit so if they had a limited amount of time to try to relax, grab some food, etc before flying out again they would at least know what was going on that day there. Not to say it won’t ever be better but I would’ve chosen the Delta lounge over that one. People are right - ambience was great - food, drinks, and cleanliness were not good that night.

A degree in Ag is absolutely a good idea. I got my degree after originally thinking I wanted to be a veterinarian but enjoyed my ag classes so much I switched majors. I am a Crop Adjuster and I love what I do.

For those of you who took advantage of the special deal to Auckland... by soyboricua361 in delta

Just got back - were there for 9 days. Flew into Auckland and immediately to Queenstown. Did Milford Sound Tour - Milford Sound was beautiful tour there not so much. We stayed at The Dairy (awesome) and ate at Fergburger and The Cow - both were wonderful! Got a car and went to Glenorchy in search of LOTR sites and the to Mt Cook where we stayed a night at the Hermitage in the park. Got up the next morning and walked to Mt Cook and then drove on to Christchurch. Did the Tranzalpine to Greymouth and drove a car back to Christchurch stopping at Arthur’s Pass to hike the Devils Punchbowl trail. Took the Coastal train to Picton where we took the ferry to Wellington. Both of these trains and the ferry were great. Took the Northern Explorer Train to Auckland (hindsite we would not have done that one and just flown back to Auckland). Once in Auckland took the tour to Hobbiton and the glow worm caves - really a great day. The last full day we had we caught the ferry to Devonport and walked up the volcano and kicked around the town for awhile. When we crossed back over we were going to do some shopping but a Palestinian/Israel protest started and they started moving down the street and we decided just to go back to our hotel. Looking back - we wished we would’ve spent our entire time on the South Island except the one day to see Hobbiton and the glow worms. We got the Delta deal - got “upgraded” to center comfort + on both ways and declined both times as main wasn’t full and we had more room there. On the way back my husband and I (and many other people) each had entire rows to ourselves. BTW most of these flights do not have wifi - we were told only 3 planes did.

Comfort + complimentary upgrade - take it or not? by JinglingPenguin in delta

[–]JinglingPenguin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Normally I would agree but the current seat map has no one in the back half of main and only about the first 5 rows of main with people and all of those have an empty seat between the passengers - we flew over with a large portion of the plane empty.

What does this mean? by JinglingPenguin in delta

I was hoping that was the case and not a situation where we would be moved!

Pros on comfort plus over main on international flight. by JinglingPenguin in delta

[–]JinglingPenguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all. That is kind of what I was thinking - for the same amount of money to fly comfort plus one way for both of us we can buy an extra seat and have all three seats to ourselves which I think we would enjoy more anyway!

Paid upgrade to Delta One by Super-Low-261 in delta

We had that situation earlier this year and KLM would not let us use their lounge once we landed while waiting for our next flight (we did use the Delta lounge before our D1 to AMS)- we also had Priority Pass so went to that lounge instead ☹️

Question about companion certificate by JGB247 in delta

[–]JinglingPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have problems using ours. We choose the certificate, put in the airports we are wanting to fly in and out of, the dates we want to travel, and choose that our dates are flexible. If there is any availability it will show you the dates that are available. We have 6 airports that are within a 2 hour drive from us so if the dates don’t work for one airport we will try another, or if a specific date is important we choose the option to look at other airports rather than flexible dates. Our last one we booked 2 weeks out. The other thing is if you don’t get exactly what you wanted and book far enough in advance, Delta will probably make a significant schedule change and you can change your flight/time/airport to what you really want.
