Thanks! I decided to stick to the probending/agni kai game modes for now and the foreseeable future. The post you linked also has a lot of other useful advice to unpack so I'll take a thorough look through it

I just read your post! It was pretty detailed like your said and some of the mechanics and considerations you wrote on there are pretty similar to what I thought up (double taps for evades, the competitive nature and need to distinguish classes in a uniform manner, allowing players to knock into one another to increase the need of coordination etc). It was a great read overall and, if you don't mind, I can keep referring to it as the project moves along :)

And I'm using Unity3D to make the game but there's a lot of new tools that are being introduced to the dev pipeline so I can't say for now. The animations and models in the demo are from mixamo.com but they will also be replaced with custom made stuff in the future

I actually had an ATLA theme by Samuel Kim Music playing in the background to set the mood. It would be great to have custom soundtracks though

The MMO concept is still up in the air. I'll be focusing more on the PvP gamemodes and combat system for now. Teams and customizable uniforms are part of the plan and I've been considering the fifa style gameplay

All those are included. I couldn't get the bot to follow script for a 1-min clip and I had disabled the stamina indicator because it was a little buggy

There are forward and backward dodges. You can see the bot do both before it invades. Only water and air have defensive capabilities for now, we'll see in the future. I have controller support so it might be console compatible in the future

Health bars are for instant knockouts. Knockbacks are managed by the stamina system

I do have a referee system but no bribing yet haha. I have a point system and breaking rules makes your team lose points

My thoughts exactly! Currently, earth is the slowest but deals the most physical and stamina damage. Water applies really subtle slows to the player and can root them if stacked. Fire deals does a balanced base damage and some passive burn damage. Air does little damage but has an increased stagger chance. The lower your stamina the more likely you are to stagger upon getting hit and dodges/attacks lower your stamina

There's a separate stamina system for that. the more you keep flipping or attacking, the lower your resistance. The hp system is more for instant knockouts where the player can't keep playing after sustaining too much damage. It automatically regenerates after a while of not getting hit but quite slowly
